Legit questions about contracts

For any house lawyers, and even those who pretend to be general counsel for major corporations.
Regarding Wilcox ... can UW force him to honor his contract, even if he shows up with a suitcase stuffed with one million dollars?
Or can they force him to stay regardless of the buyout.

I doubt it but I don't know for sure

I don't think having a DC that doesn't want to be there is a good idea. We all know what happens when a coach mails it in.

I'm going to pretend you didn't give me that question.
I'm not a labor lawyer per se, but this one is easy: no. The courts view it as against public policy to force someone to work. It's in the same solar system as slavery and we all know that we stay at least two solar systems away from that.
Also, it's akin to making a breeding ground for other problems. People sandbagging etc.
In these situations it's all about legal (not injunctive) remedy: $$ -
Pretty sure that if you meet the contractual terms that allow for a breaking of the contract, the contract is effectively broken.

Justin Wilcox, Tosh Lupoi remain on UW staff "for the moment," per source. Johnny Nansen, Keith Heyward to USC, as @Softykjr first reported.

Think we are holding them ransom until we get paid. -
Keep it simple for the layperson
If he don't stay, he must pay -
Huh? I assume that Tops is assuming clean hands. Of course if one party is in breach the courts will not entertain an enforcement action by the breaching party.Tequilla said:Pretty sure that if you meet the contractual terms that allow for a breaking of the contract, the contract is effectively broken.
Even a pretend lawyer like me knows that.

I know we can't force him to coach.
What I meant, and should have been more clear about, is can they make him sit out until his contract ends ... by not releasing him.
