I re-watch that stuff every once in a while when someone triggers me ... and it just reminds me how little attention to detail we had under Romar. Just downright unbelievable.

He got away with putting very good athletes on the floor who could execute his m2m pressure defense(when he had one). Then for some reason he stopped playing pressure defense and basically went to what everyone knew he sucked at,Tequilla said:Romar was never a great coach ... but at least the first half of his tenure you could tell that he gave a shit.

What a fag. He thinks the defense would have been as good if Romar had stayed. Romar can't coach defense and his assistants may have been the worst collection of coaches in America. We play tough D right now because of the 2-3 zone. The Syarcuse 2-3 zone, not the dreck zone attempts that LR threw out when his whole team was in foul trouble from his vaunted man2man. Thybulle broke the steals record because of his length and anticipation of movement within the zone concept. Dickerson lost 15 lbs. and increased his agility because of Hops strength guy. He didn't slim down in his two years under LR. Crisp gonna Crisp. Nothing you can do about that. Green was a lost soul for two years under LR. He came in with hype but looked like he should have spent his first two years at Everett Community College. Hopkins built him up from day one. Now he resembles the four star player he was supposed to be coming out of HS. Without Hop this team with the Porters and Davis would be losing games 110-105. Those losses would come with all the maddening bells and whistles of a LR coached team as well. Would be like watching the Baylor Alamo bowl 30 times in one year. Basnight needs an "old fashioned" from @GaryFromTeenMom.

The missing gem from the basnight twitter spa session was not only the recruits that would have made such a difference, but including Michael Porter Sr as a standout. Recruits can be argued, systems can be argued, and if you smoke enough hash you can imagine a world where romar somehow learns how to coach without any fear of being fired for lack of production.
THAT SAID, Michael Porter Sr's only relevant skill he brought to the table was sperm. He wouldn't have a job at ANY top tier basketball school sans his swimmers, and I would wager unless he has more spawn to pawn around to coaches he will be back in womens hoops or unemployed within 3 years. -
