Chintresting Twist

What if Willie Beamon takes his spedo and heads for Tallyhassy? Do they offer Crystalballz? He's a Cane, so you know he's a winner.

But seriously. Crytalballz getting a P12 job makes at least as much sense, or more, as Willie Beamon being given the keys to a Ferrari right after barely passing drivers ed. He was a head coach at a mid-major and a proven lights out recruiter. A lot of people thought FIU was stupid and impatient to fire him, and he's always on that list of "bright young up and comers". And he's a Cane, so you know he's a winner.

I can think of a lot worse choices. I don't think Leavitt is a HC ... damn good coordinator but that's where he should be. Mario has HC written all over him.

It would be chinteresting either way, or not.

Wasn't he like 29-65 and won 3 games the year they fired him?

He got demoted as Bama's line coach and he had five NFL players every year.

He can recruit like no other though.

Sure, you worry about the regression in year 6 to 3-9 after building them up from 1-11 to a respectable (for FIU) 7-6 and 8-5. FIU is a tough place. It was hard. For them, they'd have been better of LIPO. Two bowels for that school is unheard of, and he won one of them.

So he went from awful to mediocre back to awful, but did win the pizza bowl. Got it.

As an example FAU is an equally shitty program to FIU. They were 3-9 last year and Lane Kiffin has them at 9-3 right now. We all know Lane Kiffin isn't a very good head coach.

Losing twice as much as he won, getting demoted by Saban, and having zero toes to the western US makes Christo a bad hire.

Let's look at Willie Beamon at Souf Florida:

    2013 South Florida 12 2 10 0 .167 -13.56 -0.47
    2014 South Florida 12 4 8 0 .333 -10.90 -2.73
    2015 South Florida 13 8 5 0 .615 5.88 -0.74 Miami Beach Bowl-L
    2016 South Florida 12 10 2 0 .833 7.83 -2.70 19 19 Birmingham Bowl-W
    2017 Oregon 12 7 5 0 .583 6.44 2.61 24

So he went from awful, to bad, to mediocre, to good, and back to mediocre and won the Birmingham Bowel over 6-7 Souf Carolina and Will "the Retard" Muschumps. Got it.

If you're just going to go back to the guy's record at some absolute shit school that Saban would stuggle to win at, and consider nothing else, then you'll have cram down your throat the fact that your favorite program hired a guy (and is probably mortgaging the farm as we speak in a bidding war to keep him) based on ONE season.

Oregon will offer Cristobal or Leavitt for a year in hopes of keeping the recruiting class somewhat intact and to have visions of Beef o Brady dancing in their heads
