Looks like Erickson and SmithFS to Oregon State

According to John Canzano of the Oregonian, ex-Beavers coach Dennis Erickson has pitched the Beavers on hiring him to replace Gary Andersen, who resigned in October midway through his third season. Erickson went 31-17 with OSU from 1999-2002, including an 11-1 record and a Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame in 2000.

Ryan Nall could use his grad transfer year. Think he could be a good fit at UW with Salvon Ahmed as a 1-2 punch if he is interested in what winning football looks like.

Uncle Denny off the sauce might be formidable.

Why not? It's a replay from the past when Mike Riley returned to Corvallis (replacing Erickson).

Pete leaving and Smith being promoted to head coach with playcalling duties would be great.

Yikes! Let’s compare situations. Suitcase Denny arrived in Corvallis after the San Diego Chargers hired Mike Riley to be their Head Coach. They were on the rise when He got there.

While Denny may have still been on the sauce, He was still in his prime. It was his first college gig after an 8-8 fest in the NFL. And Denny was as good of college coach as there was in his prime.

However Denny is 20 years older now and OSU is Pettibone era now. While Denny is one of the great college coaches of his era. He’s not Bill Snyder who has bled for one school for 40 years. He won’t be able to assemble a staff that can go out and rip the fallen angels like He had before in Corvallis. Would be a bad move for them.

Never stopped them before. They hired Jerry Pettibone for fucks sake.

Then they made these socks for their FOOTBALL TEAM:

Jerry Pettibone is my favorite classy Beaver coach

We used to get the NW coaches shows on the old Prime network

Taggart leaving for Florida State, collapsing your recruiting class and all program momentum, and handing us Treshaun on a silver platter would be great. Please and thank you.
Coaching changes don't always collapse recruiting classes. UW fans just see it that way, but it didn't actually happen here when TW or Sark left. Neither of those assholes bothered recruiting their last season leaving the new guy to start from scratch (Pete succeeded, Sark did not).

This isn't the case at Oregon. They have the resources to get a good staff quickly, and the new staff would have a good core of commits to work with. They'd lose a few but their class would be fine.

Momentum? But I thought he was Black Sark?

You know, cause he’s black and you guys had Sark. It’s just the maths.

The win for UW would be long term. The FLA kids would bail on them this year, but long term UW is still competing for that core of commits you're talking about.

Look at what is happening in the college landscape right now? If Taggart left what top notch coach is available to come in and replace him? All of the good hires have already been snapped up.

It would hurt due to the Fla kids, but I doubt UW would poach a single kid. The Duck class would drop out of the too 10, maybe top 20, but the devastation people are jerking off over is unlikely.

Would Scott Frost pick them over Nebraska? I doubt it, but I'm sure they'd make a run.

Wilcox with Tosh as his DC would be scary from a keeping the recruiting class together standpoint.

I don't think Wilcox would bounce on Cal after 1 year for Oregon.

Someone is always available when you're made of money like the Oregon AD.

Thats why I said it would benefit Washington long term.

It sounds like Erickson will take a side role in this if he comes back... I don't think 71 is too old -- , assuming the liver holds up.
