So @Swaye being that the UCLA game is Homecoming, I have the opportunity to be down on the field waiving my wool Big W blanket as our Dwags run out of the tunnel. All that being said - along with Jake Browning sucking - do you feel wool blankets are a symbol of oppression/genocide and therefore a micro aggression that should be discontinued? Asking for myself and some frens.

It used to be confined to football lettermen. We could identify them from the stands. I guess I don't care if Crew is there but in a true confession that will not be popular, when the chicks started going out there with their blankets I thought they should just close the fucking thing down
Hey @RaceBannon - do you know when they opened it up to all sports and genders? I wasn't aware that it used to be a football only tradition. It has been all varsity sports since my era- i.e., 1990's.

I've been there since Gil Dobie so it is hard to say. Definitely before the 90's
I'll see if I can seek out some of the old timer's down there on Sat and inquire if anyone knows the answer. I have the usual random curiosity for the history of our? traditions.
