Gaskin is a 2nd team Preseason All-American. Only gets 7 rushing attempts.

Gaskin getting big carries against Rutgers doesn't do us any good long term
-
It would be too obvious to give him more. They expect it.
Also, it's not like the running game gets better as you keep pounding on them, so what's the difference?
Everyone here just wants to complain. WE WON!!! GET OVER IT!!! -
We could get an easy 5-10 yards every play with Gaskin OR we can have what's in the mystery box! Way cooler man.
-
2 big time receptions for Gaskin. I support Babushka
-
He was moved to WR. Need a #2 WR more than a #1 RB.
-
I like my RB's fresh as a daisy come the regular season.
-
Gaskin doesn't need to get more carries against Rutgers to improve himself. If we're running him 5 times in Pac 12 play, I'll be concerned.
I don't even care I'd he plays against Montana. I'd rather see Ahmed get the bulk of the carries. -
I'd rather follow the nfl preseason model here and actually play your ones to start... like fuck why not just say our good players don't need to go to practice either?
There is no need to rationalize JSFS being himself. -
I didn't know they had a cure for mental retardation. I'm happy you found it. Give us the details.Tequilla said:Gaskin getting big carries against Rutgers doesn't do us any good long term

Gaskin is really good. Even he needs holes though.
Weren't a ton of those to be had Friday. -
He found them. 7 carries 59 yards, with a long of 17. Gaskin is a stud. Coleman is too. Gaskin is the better player, but at times last year, Coleman had the hot hand and I would yell at the TV for him to get in the game.whuggy said:Gaskin is really good. Even he needs holes though.

We're keeping his legs fresh for Montana, it's a large state full of bears so they must have a pretty big team.

Watch the game again. Rutgers put 8 to 9 guys within the box on most running downs. Jim Brown would have had a hard time.

I've gotten to the point when you can actually tell which RB is best for the game. If we are facing a strong front (think Stanford or teams like that), gaskin is who is best for that because of his burst and his incredible vision and lateral ability, when we face those soft Pac-12 teams (WSU, AZ, etc) Coleman can see the holes our line opens up and he is just a force in those games.RoadDawg55 said:

I love them both though, so abundance. -
Gaskin should get almost all of the carries the first 3-3.5 quarters. Coleman in the 4th after the defense is exhausted from stretching Gaskin out along he sideline. It's so goddamn simple and we mostly stuck to it last season.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:

After seeing our performance against the worst team in the Big11, and then seeing other teams play this weekend, we will be lucky to win 6 games this year. I don't think it matters how many times Gaskin touches the ball. We suck.

You underestimate how much the Pac 10 sucks.uzi said:After seeing our performance against the worst team in the Big11, and then seeing other teams play this weekend, we will be lucky to win 6 games this year. I don't think it matters how many times Gaskin touches the ball. We suck.

Didn't Gaskin also get underutilized in the 2016 opener? His turn will come.

GASKIN IS NOT A BIG BACK -
This is pretty much what we did every game last year, so I guess Doogman had it right.Tequilla said:
