OL Recruiting

UW wanted him and were still actively recruiting him up to now. He was one of the earliest OL offers.BallzDeep said:If a guy isn't up to UW's standards they're not gonna take him. They still have a chance at Murray and can always find some hidden gem that is way more athletic than Jones. With Mele and Curne in the boat there's nothing to worry about.
He may be a fat fuck but we have this amazing thing called a Socha and also a high end football nutritionist who tailors meal plans for every player... whether they need to gain or lose weight.
MJ Ale is just as good, maybe better, but last time I checked he isn't committed yet. And Chris Murray is going to Stanford. The drop off in talent is big after that.
Jones to Oregon is nothing to be excited about. -
If he doesn't go to Stanford, he still isn't likely going to UW. He hasn't visited UW, and he's a black OL from Mater Dei.BallzDeep said:
Except on this board all of our top targets are going somewhere else until proven otherwise. We'll see what happens when UW beats Stanford again.FKA_Mousecop said:

"He had UW as his leader the whole way" this is not true at all.BallzDeep said:
They offered him when he was a 310 lbs Sophomore and was lean and looked like he had potential. Then he exploded literally and now looks like shit. He had UW as his leader the whole way. They brought him up to the Dirt Dawgs camp, got a look at him live, and a week later he's a Duck. They cooled on him.NEsnake12 said:

And yeah Socha is great but they also have this OKG thing in which they don't take Lineman who are too lazy and not passionate enough to keep their weight under control on their own. -
I think Ale should play DT at UW. After Gaines and Vita are gone, there's nobody big left, as you saw in the exercise drills yesterday of the DLs. Everybody else looks 250-265. Ale has the type of body that's not going to get injured easily.

Steven Jones literally said that Oregon was his leader most of the way, but he was still mulling over things. He said this like a week ago.BallzDeep said:
Okay so they were his leader most of the way and then Oregon became his co-leader when they started showing him more love than UW towards the end. Semantics. Point is if UW really wanted him they could have easily gotten him.FKA_Mousecop said:

Jaylen Johnson - 287 to 298 (+11)
Ricky McCoy - 292 to 292 (0)

Jared Pulu - 270 to 278 (+8)
Jason Scrempos - 275 to 283 (+8)
Vita Vea - 344 to 340 (-4)
I get what you are saying that they aren't as big as Gaines/Vea but they are well over 250-265 -
You've got a lot of Doog in you.BallzDeep said:

That Joey Ramos guy is ok, UW should probably focus on him as the 3rd OL guy and take Ale as a DT/OL-backup.
Murray will probably go to Furd. Ramos' film looks decent - he's the only decent guy left among the guys they've already offered. -
We're in his final list of teams, but Ramos hasn't given any indication UW is really in the running.priapism said:That Joey Ramos guy is ok, UW should probably focus on him as the 3rd OL guy and take Ale as a DT/OL-backup.
