Utah re-watch

The Great
1) I LOVE Gaskin. His patience and vision is ++. Coleman would be the starter on 75% of power 5 teams.
2) Gaines and Vita just plug the middle like mo fos. They will be monsters this year
3) When Azeem makes contact with the ball carrier, that fucker goes down right at that spot. The yards after contact with him is Zero
The Bad:
1) #28 kept both touchdown drives for Utah alive by missing Williams twice on third down the first drive of the 2nd half, and the stupid roughing the passer penalty on their second td drive.
2) Up 14-0 and in complete control of the game, and us getting 5 or more yards running it virtually any time we want, Our play calls went:
1st down: Seam routes from Pettis/Ross that he had to check down to an incomplete pass as Harris got shoved into the backfield
2nd down: run for two yards
3rd down: Same seam route to Ross, Jake stares him down, slightly late with throw, safety picks it. Even if Jake is on time, Ross gets killed by the safety who has play completely smelled out.
If we just take three knees and punt, with the way the D is controlling the game, I think we win comfortably. If only our OC understood situational football

McIntosh sucks in pass coverage

McIntosh is probably better at the line of scrimmage than our bucks

Yeah Gaskin can sire my children. Love that guy.

Joe Williams #28 was the best tailback in the conference last year. Dont know how that guy doesnt make an NFL roster. Ran harder than Reuben Droughns...and that says a lot. Faster than Dtoughns too
-
When you re-watch UW games from last year it's incredible how good we were given the staggering amount of missed opportunities by Wooching. Countless point blank plays botched time and time again. Wooching was one of the only negative WAR players we had last year. I expect a huge improvement at BUCK with Benning.
-
Whooching didnt play buck...Mathis did. Potoae and Obrien filled in. But yes i expect big things from potoae
-
God damned, defiler of my beloved dock!
-
Technically true but highly incomplete, Mathis only played six games and three of those were scrimmages. Psalm played more Buck last year than anyone, and far more Buck when it mattered, including the Utah game. That's more than filling in, that's most of the year at the top of the depth chart.puppylove_sugarsteel said:Whooching didnt play buck...Mathis did. Potoae and Obrien filled in. I don't remember psalm playing to the short side of the field that much. He mostly played on the wide side.
-
I thought Potatoes played more wide side than Psalm, but I do think they alternated some. Psalm's most memorable whiffs (Darnold especially) probably came from SAM.WeakarmCobra said:I don't remember psalm playing to the short side of the field that much. He mostly played on the wide side.
Regardless, the big point is that @pat_hm was making is that it's amazing how good our defense was considering how many plays Psalm blew. He was on the field all season long and whiffed tim and Timu again. Whichever position he was at and whoever is replacing him should be a considerable improvement. -
Did you know he retired?puppylove_sugarsteel said:Joe Williams #28 was the best tailback in the conference last year. Dont know how that guy doesnt make an NFL roster. Ran harder than Reuben Droughns...and that says a lot. Faster than Dtoughns too

Enjoyed last year's team, but being honest, they were good until only until they met physical teams. USC and Bama made them their bitches. They won't be noteworthy until that changes.pat_hm said:When you re-watch UW games from last year it's incredible how good we were given the staggering amount of missed opportunities by Wooching. We should have beaten Utah by 3 tds

It was weird feeling like we were whooping their ass, but it was actually a close game.PostGameOrangeSlices said:We should have beaten Utah by 3 tds

I considered jumping off the back of the stadium a few times during that game. We were about to bury them and that pick flipped the game.RoadDawg55 said:

It was very similar to the Arizona game last year.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:

You guys all all WTF'D my #28 post. Shows how fucking clueless you all are. Williams retired yes, doesnt mean he wasnt better than Gaskin...he was. He is bigger, much faster than Gaskin. He ran for 336yds vs UCLA. Thats no fluke. Best back in pack and wasnt close. Sad thing is, my droughns comparison went over every one of your heads. Race might remember, the rest? "WTF u talki, bout puppy"!!RaceBannon said:
