If there is one thing the most expensive healthcare system in the world needs, it's definitely more money.

At least you are admitting Obamacare is actually failing... -
People forget Obamacare is failing because they have too few participants. Apparently they are aware insurance with $2500 monthly premiums with $25,000 deductibles is not really insurance.

Such fiscal conservative, don

The main problem with Obamacare all along was that the funding model was not sustainable.HoustonHusky said:

I've never argued otherwise. -
It's not just the funding portion...it's pretty much the entire thing. And it's also why the scoring/comparison of any health care law to it is worthless...it's a comparison against a collapsing/failing system that nobody wants to admit is in that condition.

When was the last time anyone walked into a hospital and thought, "yeah, they're out of money."?HoustonHusky said:It's not just the funding portion...it's pretty much the entire thing. People forget Obamacare is falling becauseof subsidy cutsthere is no cost control.
And the corollary:
People forget Obamacare is failing because a monopoly only benefits the supplier. -
Obamacare just needs remove the county line restriction. Let insurers have their network across the whole state rather than localized to each county.TierbsHsotBoobs said:

It's almost like if the government took over its nation's healthcare it could control the cost of care.UWhuskytskeet said:If there is one thing the most expensive healthcare system in the world needs, it's definitely more money.
No that would never work.*
*Except in damn near every civilized nation on the planet. -

Trumpcare will also fail for that reason. -

It's baffling how we are still fucking this up. The world has paved the way for 30+ years. It could be implemented tomorrow.bananasnblondes said:Trump and the current GOP will inadvertently usher in single-payer in the US
You take the French method of single payer with the option for a private supplement (sound super fucking familiar?) along with Canada's version of contracting to private clinics/hospitals.
Insurance companies stay open along with every private clinic and hospital. So fucking simple, yet it seems impossible. -

The problem with obamacare is it tried to work within a rotten system.
What Mosster47 said. And it's inevitable -
It's baffling to me how this still gets fucked up. The world has already shown the way for 30+ years.bananasnblondes said:Trump and the current GOP will inadvertently usher in single-payer in the US
Sorry, I forgot it fully works for education but is Communism for healthcare.BearsWiin said:

Despite the furore, drug companies continue to charge exorbitant prices in America. Why?
The simple answer is because they can. European governments control prices in various ways—Britain has the strictest system, refusing to pay for medicines that fail to meet a threshold of cost-effectiveness. But in America companies set whatever official price they like.

Big Pharma is the only reason common sense hasn't taken over in all of this. Insurance, providers, and clinics won't skip a beat.pawz said:pawz said:TierbsHsotBoobs said:

Why the powers that be haven't used the Opiod problem to bastardize the Pharma companies to get public approval to make the change is also baffling. -
