Donald Trump is not a very popular president. You have to go back to 2004 to find an election where Trump's vote total would have won the popular vote. Back then the US population was 32 million less than it was in 2016.

His ratings haven't been shooting up since he was inaugurated, either.

Trump did great with the system in place. But an election with low turnout, both parties' candidates historically unpopular, over a million write-in votes, that's no mandate, fren.

No. My very first response in this thread was to your bullshit saying that we can't have nice things because we spend lots of money on foreign policy stuff. I pointed out that the Swedes actually spend comparable amounts on foreign policy stuff (per capita) because they have to pay the freight for their defense as a non-NATO member country and they actually put a decent amount (again, per capita) into their foreign aid budget.

Sweden's debt to GDP is half of the US. So when these bills come due they will still be better off than the US.

No, our economy was centered on home mortgages, some assholes got greedy and crashed the system. Then they were given 100 cents on the dollar which did nothing for the millions of people and businesses that were screwed when the economy crashed. You can't come out of a depression by lowering taxes and yelling at immigrants.

The bailout was fucking stupid. The subsidizing of the nation was necessary because the easy option of jumping into WW2 wasn't readily available.

The whole world looks to us for their entertainment and loves our culture, if not our politics. A quarter of the world's nations and most of Europe would be swallowed up by Russia, China and the Middle East psychos, if we suddenly left them to fend for themselves.

We are still the number one country for innovative products and services.

All of the other so called Utopian countries like Sweden would be shit holes if not for the protection, aid and leadership that the US offers.
