I might do the same when my Comcast contract is up this summer, but then they raise your internet rates to the point that you don't save any money after subscribing to a new streaming service. I'll likely do it anyway because fuck them. Monopolies are great for consumers.

I do feel bad for some of these cuts, especially some of the old timers. They watched helplessly as ESPN's execs drove it into the shitter, and it's not like they knowingly hitched their wagon to the wrong employer when they were hired.

The main sports demographic wants obscenity, actual sports talk, and rival tears to go with their sports.
ESPN can't offer that, and most of these other sources are free anyways. Only thing you "need" from Espn nowadays is a Wednesday night matchup between the Suns and Mavs.
