The Sales and Property tax are regressive standing alone and penalize the poor and elderly. But simply tacking on an income tax on top of the existing regressive system is a pure money grab by Mr. Boy Diddler.

Agree on the Boy Diddler, and on the need for a restructuring of the tax code in general, but be careful what you wish for. A state income tax is a bad idea IMHO.PurpleThrobber said:

Seems to me, with record state revenues and growth unparalleled in the entire country, Washington shouldn't be in such a hurry to copy failed state tax structures.

But I am not philosophically opposed to an state income tax given significant reductions to the other tax sources currently utilized in the state. The gas tax is criminal for the condition of roads in the state. The property tax is simply a money grab based on subjective opinion of valuation.
