He wouldn't deny that his source was from the white house.
Just because he has a source in the Executive Branch it does not mean its part of Trump's team...if you haven't figured it out by now the govt is kinda large. It could be SS or it could be all sorts of things. The rumor is that he was pulling PDBs given to Obama (which explains him being there as getting access to them is not easy), which if they were gossip on Trump's transition (and eventually leaked to the NYTs and WP) then it brings up all sorts of issues.
Nunes was the guy that was directly talking with the lower level CIA analysts and found out a lot of the ISIS "intelligence" getting pushed up was getting filtered, and he's the one that dug up the 3 CIA officers in Benghazi that both confirmed and contradicted the administration's description of what happened there. He's better than your average lazy Congressman, which is probably why Schiff and such are so uncomfortable. -
