If you don't feel like listening, here's the summary:
This wasn't a "Lorenzo gave us good years, built a good foundation, we thank him for his service, but it's time to move on" interview.
It was more of a "Romar was lazy and wouldn't put in the work and the culture of program sucked" interview. It's worth a listen because it's a remarkably subtle trashing of the guy she just fired. She couldn't muster a single positive thing to say about Romar and routinely circled back to fairly scathing criticisms.
Having never heard much of anything she's had to say before, this interview made her come off as fairly ruthless.

So b/c Romar made a couple sweet 16's and hadn't made a 68 team tourney in the last 6 years, she should erect a statue instead of speak truth?
Romar has been one of the biggest jokes in Basketball coaching circles for exactly what she stated. Culture of the program, effort of the program, defense, creating offense. Romar was paid something like 25 million, can people stop acting like he's a saint and that he somehow brought a NC to UW and now we're doomed? -

The argument for keeping him around for Porter is stupid, but whatever. They are just dumb or mesmerized by how great Porter is. And he is great. There aren't many guys 6'10" with his handle and shot.
The ones that really piss me off are the ones pretending like he didn't deserve to be fired.
Any coach that doesn't go to the tournament for 6 years deserves to be fired. The fact he had some NBA guys makes it even worse.
We went 2-16 with Fultz and most of it was because the team didn't play hard and played stupid. The team quit on the coach and people still think he shouldn't have been fired. -

No shit. Not only did he not get jobbed, he basically turned the program into a shitty AAU team with a shitty AAU attitude.
Cohen calling him out and not paying any lip service to the "he's a nice guy" bullshit was refreshing. -
Doesn't surprise me. Remember in an interview earlier this year with NWG he said they didn't even watch film when he was at UW? Lol
Romar threw in the towel a long time ago. -
He quit years ago. When defenses changed, he didn't want to evolve. He got annoyed with some one/done losses, but had his head up his ass so much he forgot he had talented team(s) that needed coaching. Really, he should probably be on TV. Say nice things about everyone. Hand out participation ribbons to All. Outside of that, I wouold e shocked if he ran back into the coaching world anytime soon. he lost his edge and I think retired with 2 mill a year the next 2 will just solidify that retirementCuntWaffle said:Doesn't surprise me. The one seed team had Nate and B-Roy with a bunch of fringe NBA guys like Conroy and Bobby Jones. Tre Simmons was a great college player who would have played in the NBA if he took that route. Crawford once said he was the best player not in the NBA. That team was unbelievably loaded.
Same for 2010-11. That team getting a 7 seed and playing UNC in the 2nd round was bad coaching. I've always said IT was held back at UW.
Boobs could have coached either of those teams to the tournament. -
