Clem Haskins getting caught cheating & suspending half his team days before the 99 tournament is what gave the world Gonzaga.

Musselman is a good fucking coach... Been very impressed with Nevada today, tough scrappy and fought back from a huge deficit.

I have a theory that Few would entertain the idea of taking the UW job because he's an asshole and he hates Romar. It's like fucking the wife of the guy at work that you hate.

That's a special kind of satisfaction. Even better when she begs for it.bananasnblondes said:I have a theory that Few would entertain the idea of taking the UW job because he's an asshole and he hates Romar. It's like fucking the wife of the guy at work that you hate.

He did win the NIT in his first year and did well this year though.TierbsHsotBoobs said:

He's lucky Minnesota didn't fire him last season.
His teams were T-Town Tuff, too. Pretty sure Dave Winfield is in there brawling.https://youtu.be/XM3HlE9yPPs
Hire his kid.
Academic scandal isn't quite as badass as a bench and stand-clearing brawl, granted. -
Regarding Richard Pitino ...
Pops is 64 years old ...
Put yourself in Dick Pitino's shoes ...
He's built a tournament team this year in Minnesota ... almost certainly has that program in a better position today than what UW will have ...
Is it possible that he's thinking about being inline for the Louisville job when Dad retires? Does Pops push for that?
If so, way better for Dick Pitino to say in Minnesota around the general recruiting environment (including Chicago) that Louisville would be typically tapping into while trying to build a sustained tournament level program at Minnesota that is growing.
I don't think it's the worst hire ... but I find it hard to believe that Dick Pitino would be here for the next 7-10 years ... if he was I'm not sure that would be a positive sign for the program. -
Questions to ask regarding any potential candidate and finding their motivation for taking the UW job outside of the typical belief of whether they think it's a job that they can with ...
If from a Power 5 caliber conference:
Has said coach been recently fired?
Is said coach in a position where with a disappointing year they may be fired from their current job?
Is there some kind of local tie to the Seattle area?
If from a mid-major conference:
How long has the coach been a head coach and at current school? Has said coach shown an ability to manage the roster of a program over a long-term cycle versus just taking over a program from a departing coach and riding the coattails?
Has said coach shown an ability to consistently be able to compete at the upper levels of their conference with multiple conference championships? Is there NCAA Tournament success?
Can the coach's success be attributed more to one of his ability to develop players, run a system, or recruit?
Does the prospective coach have any ties to the Seattle area? Any concerns about being able to navigate the relationships with the local hoops community? IF there is a potential inability to navigate the local community, does the coach have an established recruiting base that he can tap into and realistically assume that that recruiting base will be transferable to the University of Washington?
