For all those that wanted Romar gone, I hope you guys are ready to stay mediocre... remember the best recruiting class in school history... BEST EVER

Blow up in her face???
How can she be faulted for firing a coach who finished 11th in the conference and hadn’t made the tournament in six years?

Because it can be far worse

"If the NCAA hadn't changed the hand check rules Romar would still be the coach"

Already can see UW fans watching MPJ dominate next year, taking Missouri to Elite 8 and complaining, "That could've been us."

could not disagree more
Most all of us see football for what it is, CPs world and Jen just makes sure everyone gets paid. No one should give her credit for that, she doesn’t deserve any for the football program. By her move today, she is taking ownership of the basketball program. Now I really do think and hope she will make a good hire, but if she doesn’t the #FireCohen campaign should rightly begin.

Probably will. And then UW would be right back to being garbage. This metaphysical certainty that doogs have that UW would rocket to the top for the long term is based in no tangible world and only their gutless, self-righteous attitude.Petersen3098 said:Already can see UW fans watching MPJ dominate next year, taking Missouri to Elite 8 and complaining, "That could've been us."

They like to show off that they like Romar because he's a nice guy and a good man, it makes them look wholesome and benevolent. It's patronizing and insulting to Romar -
I apparently wasted hours going to watch Garfield and Nathan Hale play a couple of times
Sure will be great watching them light up March Madness next year….. on other teams…
As much as I like Jen, seems like she set herself up to either look like a genius or an idiot.

Conroy will stay on.
Book it. He’s the next coach after the next coach.
And any coach that doesn’t want Will Conroy on his staff is not the right guy for UW. Will is staying, and it’s non-negotiable. I’m very confident in that.

The "right guy" can bring in whoever the hell he wants. Whoever he thinks are the best coaches.
If Will is one them, I’ll be thrilled. If he think’s some other assistant is, then that’s his prerogative.
Many thought Petersen NOT retaining Justin Wilcox was a huge mistake. Huge. Well…

That's why it's such a unique job.
Again, you have to understand the place.
If you don’t retain Will, you lose all the recruits and most of the players on the roster. And you never get another Seattle kid again.
That’s not starting in a hole, that’s starting at the.bottom of the Marianas Trench. You might as well just fire yourself.
Of course it’s not literally a pre-condition for employment, but I can’t see Jen hiring someone who doesn’t want Will on his staff. A lot of people who know what they’re talking about, think that Will’s gonna be the head coach here some day.
No way is Will Conroy not staying on the staff. No way.

Doog article of the week
Whichever way it goes, I’m having trouble reconciling the fact that we traded Romar, a couple of key pieces from the roster and most of the #2 rated incoming class in the nation for one of the options noted above. It’s like the contestant that handed over to Monty Hall of “Let’s Make a Deal” the keys to the Corvette he just won so that he could see what was behind door #3.
