So uh...they are repealing the mandate but keeping the non-denial for pre-existing conditions stuff.

How the fuck are you going to pay for that without raising premiums through the roof?

In truth, this is so bad it's likely designed to fail. It has no chance of passing the Senate so it gives the GOP a scapegoat for not being able to come up with a decent plan. "We wanted to fix health care but couldn't because of the democrats".

Neither plan is fiscally sound as the current plan relied on Millenials that live in their 2 dads basements to actually buy health insurance.

The Republicans really should have just repealed Obamacare all the way. And then they should deregulate the fuck out of the entire health care industry so that it becomes competitive again.

Let hospitals start refusing treatment if people can't pay for it. Let people choose a less expensive, but riskier/less effective treatment if they don't or can't afford to pay more. Make it easier for people to get drugs....we should be able to buy drugs off the shelf at Wal-Mart without a prescription. Don't make people see an actual doctor for stupid shit. Get rid of these residency committees that limit the amount of people who can actually become a practicing doctor. Stop incentivizing employers to choose and pay for their employees' health care plans by giving them a lower payroll tax than if they had just given the employees the extra money to shop and choose their own plan, so that there is actually some individual leverage against health insurance providers.

Government has been the problem the entire time. All these rules and regulations are basically the government saying that they know how to spend our money better than us, as if the nation wasn't comprised of people with a variety of financial backgrounds and personal preferences. We should all be outraged at the lack of respect toward the American people. We know what's best for us. Give us the fucking power back, and stop policing every aspect of the god damn industry. Come on, Republicans, you're in power now...let's get it done.

TL, DR. Where are my pills?

this is how you defend a plan you know nobody likes
The best part about this is the fact that 10% of the bill is dedicated to preventing lottery winners from using Medicaid. Such a huge issue.
