He is even worse on the radio which I didn't think was possible.He_Needs_More_Time said:http://seattletimes.com/html/jerrybrewer/2022197770_brewer06xml.html
What a surprise, Jerry Brewer is recycling his Ty Willingham talking points to defend a loser black coach.
There’s nothing wrong with this hire. The Mariners chose a good person for their situation. McClendon is a well-respected baseball mind. He has a good history as a hitting coach, which is the Mariners’ weakness. He did a decent job in his first managing gig with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was fired after posting a .430 winning percentage in five seasons with the previously befuddling Pirates, which is hardly cause for concern. In Joe Torre’s first managing job, he had a .405 winning percentage in five seasons with the New York Mets. Casey Stengel? A .453 winning percentage at his first stop.
This guy is such a clown for a writer and so predictable too. -

When people bring up reverse racism there is a picture of Jerry Brewer. This article reminded me of his pro Ty articles. Loves how he said McLendon did a decent job despite having a .430 winning percentage.

I really like McLendon. He just needed more time in Pittsburgh. Just like with Ty, you can't judge his record because he didn't have very good talent. I think with a proven hitting coach like him, the Mariners might hit .240 this year.

Black head coaches* only get hired by crappy baseball franchises.

Somewhere Ty is screaming "See told you guys! Black coaches only take over downtrodden teams!".
McLendon will have managed for the two worst organizations in his first two jobs.
