Nothing on Gorsuch?

And stupid of course

I'm watching Jimmy Stewart in "Mr. Smith goes to Washington." Maybe later.
-
I'm hearing he was the most transparent pick ever and bi partisan. Trump is going to work with Democrats and it's gonna be yuge.
-
The guy seemed solid and terrified of trump
-
Ozone is shaking and about to vomit

perfectly acceptable pick to replace kennedy, or Ginsburg. Much better than I even expected. and very much unlike someone you'd expect trump to pick. We do need to hear his opinion of the NSA on the record
Nothing will change the fact that this seat was stolen. -
That was a ballsy role of the dice. Strictly partisan political maneuver, and they dumb-lucked into a win on it.dhdawg said:perfectly acceptable pick to replace kennedy, or Ginsburg. what's interesting is, unless you're a right wing Christian nut, garland and Gorsuch aren't that much different.
Both are pro business
Gorsuch is probably better on 4th amendment
Garland was about as watered down a pick as you can make, and the GOP ideologues still blocked it

Pelosi drew a hard line in the sand on him during her CNN Town Hall this evening, which was an understandable play but one I think that will come back to bite her if she pushes it. Pick your battles; this isn't a winnable one. -
I get it. but it's still a stolen seat. there can't just be no political priceBearsWiin said:

Only thing GOP cares about is that he is pro life and hates gay people. Rest is meaningless.dhdawg said:what's interesting is, unless you're a right wing Christian nut, garland and Gorsuch aren't that much different.

I don't disagree. But extract the pound of flesh elsewhere, not here. Fighting the battle over this particular appointment won't go well for Democrats. Better to hit hard somewhere else where they're weaker and the Dems are stronger. Kinda like Weinberger's policy of horizontal escalation in the early 1980's regarding the Sovs.dhdawg said:

REAL Hitler would have gotten his own People's Court in there.
Disappointed! -
Pelosi can do whatever she wants without consequence. Outside of killing somebody and having to work while in prison, her ticket is punched easily on every election.BearsWiin said:

I'm fine with Gorsuch.
Sharing this anyway though because it's funny: -
Stolen how? There has never been an appointment that late in a last term. It was voted on by the people. Your side lost.dhdawg said:

I actually like the idea of an 8 person SC. if the decision is clear, you'll get 5 people to vote for it anyway. Otherwise send it back to the appeals court
-
It's actually crazy the number of votes that are unanimous. The ones that are lame are like the Obamacare vote where 4 didn't read it and said no. 4 others didn't read it and says yes. And left it to the 9th person to justify his thoughts.dhdawg said:I actually like the idea of an 8 person SC. if the decision is clear, you'll get 5 people to vote for it anyway. The murder of scolia seems to have backfired...
-
Scrolia?
-
Trump's clearly pandering to the religious right but this is a reasonable choice, unlike many of his cabinet picks.
-
the dems in there infinite stupidity will make it about issues and filibuster.
If they are going to do that. don't even bring up a single issue. just say the seat was stolen (which it was), bring up what cruz and mccain said before the election, and make McConnell answer the questions if he wants to nuke.
They won't because they suck. but that's how they should handle it. -
He's a shoe-in. They can't Bork him, because he's squeaky clean. But they'll try, and wind up looking like assholes, mostly because they are, but also because he's smarter and more accomplished than any of them, despite his rightward leanings.

The United States is greater than these two pathetic, petty political parties. They both need to be destroyed in order to cleanse America.
-
Agree. It needs to be composed of 4 fucktarded extreme right zealots and 4 fucktarded extreme left zealots, perpetual gridlock on important social issues, send the power back to the people where it belongs. It doesn't belong in the hands of these fucktwits.dhdawg said:I actually like the idea of an 8 person SC. if the decision is clear, you'll get 5 people to vote for it anyway.
