The Walls of Troy didn't keep out the Greek army.
Hadrian's Wall didn't keep Britain from rebelling against Rome.
The Western Wall didn't prevent Jerusalem from changing hands multiple times.
The Wall in Game of Thrones can't even keep out the Wildlings, much less the White Walkers and their army of wights (spoilers!) that it was built for.
The Berlin Wall didn't keep Eastern Germans out of West Germany.
The fence on the house down the street didn't keep me from jumping over it and getting the fuck out of there when the owner caught me banging his daughter on the couch.
Most of these failed in the ancient and/or medieval period during which they were built. To think such an outdated and static defensive system will be anything but an eyesore that flushes money down the toilet is completely fucking stupid. -
