I think it depends on how it's enforced. I don't want to see stop, frisk and ask for your green card. States aren't going to receive tax-dollars if they disagree or don't conform with the Trump's dictates. I wonder how many times daily that he's going to use this threat in the next 4 years.
I have a feeling some states are going to start restricting entry at their borders like Cali used to do in the Great Depression when they eventually don't receive their government $$$.
Authoritarians always use the divide and conquer tactic.

We talk a lot about making leasier for law enforcement. Effectively policing communities where no one will talk might be impossible.
