trump wants the US to be venezuela

let's see the plan. sounds good in theory, especially with the drug negotiation part.
If he can get something like this through congress (assuming it's not some fraud and actually does what he says it will) good on him. I think he's gonna run into problems.

No in Venezuela, they seize companies rather than respecting the private sector.
Also if certain pharmaceutical companies don't like the pricing of Medicare and Medicaid, they don't have to sell to them. -
the only way to assure universal coverage is by providing it through the government, or putting even stiffer penalties on obamacare.HFNY said:No in Venezuela, they seize companies rather than respecting the private sector.

Why don't they just remove the over 65 provision from Medicare and up the tax rate. Get rid of medical insurance companies. Trump can get it done.

It would be oddly perverse and hilarious if that happened.2001400ex said:Why don't they just remove the over 65 provision from Medicare and up the tax rate. Get rid of medical insurance companies. Trump can get it done.

I don't want health insurance from the government, but they can legalize all drugs and not tax or regulate. That would be great.

Allow insurance companies to cross state lines. Inexpensive catastrophic plans, HSA accounts, tax deductible premiums and HSA savings. Free market capitalism will fix itself.

So Obamacare minus the mandate and add in across state lines. Got it.Sledog said:Allow insurance companies to cross state lines. Inexpensive catastrophic plans, HSA accounts, tax deductible premiums and HSA savings. Free market capitalism will fix itself.

That was one of the reasons why I thought Obamacare was poorly conceived, the penalties were a joke for young people, far too low for political reasons (such as Obama's 2012 reelection).
An obesity tax would be nice too. The obese cost roughly 3x more to treat than people of relatively normal weight.dhdawg said:

The food industry is massively fucked up. A sugar tax may be too far but the products we choose to subsidize are a jokeHFNY said:That was one of the reasons why I thought Obamacare was poorly conceived, the penalties were a joke for young people, far too low for political reasons (such as Obama's 2012 reelection).
