Threads like this are just depressing. If you
support Petersen you support Smith until
Petersen says he doesn't want Smith. Then you
support the new OC. I'm sure Coach Pete is slightly
more qualified to evaluate his coaches than the nerds on
here. I doog for Petersen. Whoever he wants is good
    with me.

This is a false equivalency, but let's just take your stance and say that if we like a coach and he makes a decision we have to like it too. Then fuck Petersen.
I wouldn't necessarily say that. Simple point.
Petersen is about a million times more qualified
than the nerd patrol on here to make a decision
on who he wants on staff. I don't care whether
Smith stays or goes. Trust Pete will care and know.
This is the worst kind of sycophantic doogery. Just pathetic, anemic, sack-less fanboyism.

NewsFlash: Pete doesn't need or benefit from you defending him. You don't matter at all.
And I'm pretty sure he's not reading all your nerd
boy rants on here. So I guess that makes us both
worthless to Pete on who he has on staff. For about
the 10th time I don't care whether he stays or goes.
Petersen's call and I'm good with that.
I don't haveto be a 3 star general to know that the Maginot line was a failed defense. I can trust Petersen to manage most aspects of the team whole still recognizing that one part unequivocally sucks.
Then if he is the coach we all seem to agree he
is I'm sure he'll deal with it. That work for you?
Only if he deals with it. Lots of otherwise competent people have blind spots for their friends. The only way I'll accept it is if we win a national championship despite him.

This just got me thinking, doesn't his contract end this year? I thought he was the only one that didn't get an extension after last season.

Yes he only got a 1 year contract last year, while the rest of the coaches got 2 year contracts. That was Pete telling him he was on the hot seat.
