Sark's problem wasn't that he didn't run the ball but that he'd give up on the run or go through key moments in games where he didn't run the ball. Look at the 09 game at UCLA. Polk had something 75 yards on 15 carries and barely touched the ball in the 2nd half.AtomicDawg said:

Sark and Babushka/Petersen do the same bullshit at times and get pass happy. They have balanced offenses, but are all former QB's.
The main difference is Babushka has a way better QB and OL than Sark ever did because this team is much better recruited and coached than the Sark teams. -
Once Sark retired his Denny's menu play call sheet he got a lot less frustrating as a play caller. In 2013 he might have gone a little too far the other way with his tiny index card. I bet if he split the difference and had a greeting card size sheet, he'd hit the happy medium.

Yes, Sark could "grind out some wins". However, in many of the cases, it shouldn't have been necessary.
Beating bad teams by 4 TDs > grinding out a win over a bad team -
