I re-watched the game...painful as it was.

Part of it was usc just did a great job defending our routes short and deep, taken nothing away from them. However I thought the game plan was good for a qb with a big arm which is not Jake. Petersen should know his qb and smith of course knows nothing anyway

Yes, Dissly's catch had me pointing at the TV saying, "THERE! RIGHT THERE! THAT WILL WORK! TAKE 5-6 YARDS AND MOVE ONTO THE NEXT PLAY!"jecornel said:If you want to torture yourself, just watch the drive that ended in a blocked FG.
1st down Gaskin gets four yards for 2nd and 6. Then a shit pass play resulting in a hold.
Fuller gets 14 yards back on 2nd & 16 with a pass over the middle. It's 3rd & 2. Then john Smith dials up dreck only john knows how.
John got licked straight up. It's in Pete!
Also, anyone notice Dissly! What a grab. That route was there all night. -
Go hire Norm Chow for the next 3 years ... he is in semi-retirement but knows how to run an offense much better than these so called brilliant OC's like Snark and Kiffy and certainly Smiff. Hell Chow saved Pete Carroll's career and got him rolling before Pete went stupid and had Kiffy and Snark try and be heroes. SC never won another title without Chow as OC and they had even more talent 2005-2009.

Passing attacks tend to look better when the QB has all day in the pocket.RaceBannon said:USC had a brilliant passing attack. All sorts of routes. We got out played and out coached.

The really fucking retarded thing about the explosive plays comment is that with Pettis and Ross a 4-8 yard slant/out/drag/dig route CAN be an explosive play, a power run play with Gaskin CAN be an explosive play.
These fucktards (both Pete and Smiff) are calling plays like the only way we could ever get a 15+ yard play is on a trick play or a go route against 1 on 1 coverage. -

Wear them out, make it hurt, break their will.
Instead, we? got cute and lost. -
By the way, at the weekly Monday press conference not one "reporter" asked Pete why the offense didn't start throwing crisp underneath routes. Not a single question.
Real in-depth beat writers we have around here. -
Nice post. I hadn't really thought of that. First play of the game was a pass to Ross in the flat for a big gain that almost broke.Houhusky said:The really fucking retarded thing about the explosive plays comment is that with Pettis and Ross a 4-8 yard slant/out/drag/dig route CAN be an explosive play, a power run play with Gaskin CAN be an explosive play.

Being "stubborn" (still fucking hate that comment) with the run game often leads to be big chunk plays from forcing the defense to be physical and bring it on almost every down.
The run game can and has been explosive all season. -
This is a great offensive philosophy and instead we have explosive diarrhea Babushka and whatever his philosophy is.ThomasFremont said:
