I heard a while back they had 4,000. Maybe they have 5000 now. Scout probably gets half so lets assume revs of 25K/month. Scout probably pays for some of the expenses. A couple grand goes to Fetters & Ecklund, then Dave & Kim probably split the rest. Say they pay F&E 3K and have 4K of expenses then leaves 7500/mo for Kim.
Don't think he will go broke anytime soon. It's a nice source of income but certainly quite small compared to Kim's ego.
Good numbers to chew on, and probably somewhat close to the realm of reality. I have always wondered how he managed to keep a few people paid on what looked like somewhat meager revenue, but 25K a month is nothing to sneeze at when all you have to do to get it is field complaint PM's from Doogs (LOL), wear stupid pants, feed Fetters nachos, and make up utter nonsense that lap dog re re's eat up by the bucket load. -
There's no way F3's food budget is feasible with those numbers Chest posted. He must be running annual budget deficits in order to afford a lavish mustard lifestyle.

Here's my take on it, and I have no real information. Sark and Woody pretend to buddy up to Kim and basically say, "You suck our nuts, we will scratch yours." The doogman staff makes sure things don't get too out of line criticizing UW coaches and the AD. They also from time to time will post on doogman about all of the things they are doing right.
In return, Sark allows assistant coaches and recruits to go on their shitty radio show. They also probably get some useless off the record info from time to time. This makes Kim feel important and let's Woodward and Sark control the board. The truth is, Kim is getting played harder than a heavy metal drum set by Woodward and Sark. -

A few years ago Kim and I went back and forth a bit. He insisted on making my articles premium, while I wanted them free for wider distribution. His argument (and valid from his point of view) was that it made the articles more valuable to have to pay for them. If I recall correctly, we were discussing numbers and I argued that having 50-100,000 people read an article was more valuable to me than 3,000+ potentially reading the article. I agree that most probably don't post, hence my 20% estimate. Honestly, there is just no way they have 4,000+ subscribers. People don't forget about a monthly fee. Maybe for a month or two, but I just don't think there are hundreds of people who see $12 for Doogman on their credit card statement and just let it slide.HeretoBeatmyChest said:To chrisvashon,

There are <50 regular posters over there. And about 15 of those generate 99% of the content. During super sexy chat time, they rarely - very rarely - crack 300 (this according to the two years when I was a member). People signing up for a recruiting website make it a priority to get into things like super undercover info chat sessions. But, even if we are being conservative and saying that 80% of users don't check out the chats or ever post, we're still talking far less than 2,000 subscribers overall.
All of this is, of course speculation. But what isn't speculation, as I pointed out, is that Ecklund has another job and Kim, for a long time, had another gig. If this thing was printing money, they wouldn't need to supplement their income. Or do other money grabs like a signing day party in fucking Kirkland.
And the best part is <b>they fucking know the business they've built is fragile and barely getting by.
Thriving business are not terrified of competitors. And Doogman is scared shitless of little sites like ours. I've never seen a message board where links to similar types of sites are deleted (and prohibited in the rules!). Just a mention of hardcorehusky will get you a "time out."
Kim knows he doesn't know shit about football. Other sites are breaking down plays, producing high quality videos, educating their viewers (eg california golden blogs does a great breakdown of key plays after every game).
Kim, Ecklud, Fetters -- they are totally incapable of adding insight or thoughtfulness to their coverage. All they do is regurgitate. Literally. Their content is a video of a press conference. Or a transcription of Sark's radio show! It's pathetic. I bet they don't even know HOW to edit video.
All of this is to say their only competitive advantage is that they cornered the market. And, for some reason, no credible or competent (hi Ruth!) competitors ever challenged their dominance. That's it. And that's why they're so scared of us.

The funny part is that F3 and doogman ask for proof as if they don't delete basically everything that rocks the boat. I would have all the screenshots I need if I didn't have 3/4 of my posts deleted and wasn't perma-banned.
