Huskies’ dominance reminiscent of ’91 national championship team

Reminiscent maybe, and I really like this team, but that comparison is way too premature.
Through the first six games the '91 team played two top 10 teams that finished the season highly ranked, including one (Nebraska) on the road. And of course they continued dominating opponents on their way to an unbeaten season and a national championship trophy. That was one of the best college football teams of all time.
This 2016 team has yet to face an opponent that is still ranked. I love these guys, the past two plus weeks have been fantastic, but they're still in #Proveit mode. And what initially looked like a front loaded schedule now looks heavily back loaded. At this point I would be disappointed, but not be shocked, to see them still lose a game or two. -
If you asked any of the '91 dawgs, they'd laugh hysterically at the comparison.
Those were bad motherfuckers.
-
Yeah but the uncle Rico effect will be real if the 2016 dawgs run the table.PurpleThrobber said:If you asked any of the '91 dawgs, they'd laugh hysterically at the comparison.

I don't want to compare to 91, but this team has a lot of NFL players.Doogles said:

Certain NFL players: Adams, McGary, Ross, Jones, King, Budda Baker, Victor, Qualls, Gaines, Vea...
Probable: Gaskin, Browning, Pettis, Mathis... Browning seems small, but he's listed on NFL lists as one of the top QB's for his year.
Eldrenkamp will get a shot. I have no clue about Coleman Shelton, but he's a four year starter who has played multiple positions. Bierria might be too small, but at minimum he's a very good college LB. Gardenhire started over King at times last year. I actually think Coleman will be in a camp. The team is loaded. -
Pettis seems like a UDFA type that ends up on roster (Seahawks) bet he will replace Kearse.
-
Mathis will be a late to mid round pick depending on his combine imo.. Gardenhire will play in the league he has size and length *faggy wink*.. Bierra fits today's modern NFL and his size is similar to Bobby Wagner both shorter and athletic..
-
I bet a couple of our redshirts and some of our young depth will play in the NFL which is scary
-
Gaskin will play in the league no question
-
Browning is a rich man's kellen moore
-
I think so, but RB is a hard position. He's not very big either. Polk was a great college RB and went undrafted.backthepack said:Gaskin will play in the league no question

That's my point. If you go down the line, the man for man talent isn't that far off. Obviously I could give a fuck about NFL success over team success at Washington, but it's not crazy to say Vea, Gaines, and Qualls won't have better pro careers than emtman. Or Ross is better than Bailey. Or the entire secondary isn't better than the 91 guys.RoadDawg55 said:

Now if they lose to Cal we can all shut the fuck up about it. The bar 91 set is extremely high in college and that's all that matters. If 2016 reaches that place and the tiebreak goes to NFL success, it won't be that hard to argue they're better. -
Next time I have a sit down with PurpleJ to discuss bandwidth conservation, I'll sit down too with this lad to explain consolidating multiple thoughts into one coherent post.dnc said:backthepack said:Pettis seems like a UDFA type that ends up on roster (Seahawks) bet he will replace Kearse.

The Emtman comparison is pretty unfair. Dude blew out his knees and that was that. It's pretty safe to say Vea, Gaines and Qualls won't sniff the #1 pick.Doogles said:

I agree this team has a lot of talent. Perhaps even more talent at some positions. But they don't have anybody like Stan Empterman. -
I also think Taylor Rapp will play in the league. He is getting starter quality mintues half way through his freshmen year. He is covering really well, making big hits, and has had a couple nice tackles in run support this year.

Almost sounded like a Cuog the way they compare the Emtman bust to the Rian Leef bust. . . .Yes. the original comparison was unfair.dnc said:

None of those guys are even close to what Stan Empterman was in college. All three are very good college DL too. Vea's potential is scary. He's massive. I actually watched his highlight film because he was a late signee and wondered how the fuck he wasn't a 5 star. He was 330+ and playing RB and actually making cuts.dnc said:

When I was a young kid, I said to one of my dads, "Steve Emtman only had 6.5 sacks his best season. Was he really that good?"
He popped in the 91 Arizona game where Emtman starts the game with two sacks followed by the Rose Bowl win. -
The best thing about Emtman's pro career was his cameo in Little Giants.
I agree an injury is an injury, but if 1 of those guys makes a pro bowl that's all I need to see.
Also Uncle Rico syndrome is kicking in. I've watched the tapes, emtman is better than those guys, but i'm seeing double teams getting completely punked by the 2016 dawgs too.
I would take @DonaldJones over Psalm. -
