I should also note I have seen all of these bands live (some many times) except Sabbath (but I did see Ozzy) and Rainbow (but I did see Dio). The 80's kicked ass.

Poor choice of Pantera songs but otherwise good job, good effort

Almost went with Mouth for War, but I have always been a fan of Walk.Peterman said:Poor choice of Pantera songs but otherwise good job, good effort

Metal fans are like those douches that drive jacked up 4x4 pickups with TruckNutz on the trailer hitch.

REAL metal fans know that the roots of metal are based in the blues/jazz.
Show some fucking respect, you animals. -
Oh, and I left tons of great bands out that I love. I did say "brief" history of metal. Mastadon, AC/DC (more hard rock than metal), Judas Priest, Death, Opeth, Machine Head, Deep Purple, Rammstein, etc., etc., etc. I would have been on Youtube an hour finding all that shit and I am lazy.ThomasFremont said:No love for Dimmu Borgir?

Well if we are going all the way back to blues/jazz then fuck off I love me some Otis Redding.

Yeah, I figured I needed to go with a classic after picking Battery instead of One and Hangar 18 instead of Peace Sells...Peterman said: -

As that great philosopher Vince Neil once said:Swaye said:I should also note I have seen all of these bands live (some many times) except Sabbath (but I did see Ozzy) and Rainbow (but I did see Dio). The 80's kicked ass.
The 80's were all about getting drunk, and getting laid. -

Skip ahead to about the 1:00 mark if you don't like slow intros
It is a bit more in the bucket that includes Helmet, Fugazi, and Quicksand, so worth a listen if you like that part of the genre. -
Good chit Swaye. Excellent choices.Swaye said:
