    Why do south side residents shoot each other in huge numbers? We lose more there than the middle east wars. It's not the fault of the police, slavery or lack of gun control maybe some societal factor is at work here.....

    Decades of Big Government Dem policies have really hurt Chicago and Illinois. Both have substantial pension problems and since Chicago is paying so much to retired government workers (including some cops), they don't have the money to hire more police and / or attempt to bring economic development to the South Side.
