You seem to not understand how easy it is to recruit to Eugene. It's much simpler to pull in top talent for the trendy Ducks.
In the ghettos of Seattle, it's really hard to pull in that kind of talent. So there is a learning curve with a lot of these kids. UW has to pull in lower star recruits that have a lot of upside and "coach them up."
[Auburndoog quote about Don James doing it the RIGHT WAY with 5th year seniors]
I know you are being sarcastic, but if every player was a 5th year senior, we would have to sign an 85 man recruiting class and wait another 5 years to win. We would also have to forfeit every game once every 5 years (0-12 IMO)
In the case of a guy like Lemieux, who beat out cromulent Pac-12 linemen to earn a starting spot, you Quook it up and say that's what redshirt freshman who go on to good careers do.
In the case of a guy like Schooler, who wasn't even good enough for the Big Sky Conference two months ago, you wonder if the secondary is going to be a Chernobyl or a mere Three Mile Island.

But it would be WORTH IT

Either way, you get to make a Simpsons reference.
