it helps "sure up" the base that already nominated him.ThomasFremont said:Don't get this.
Doesn't help with Independents, and doesn't help with a critical state in the electoral math.
But how is this an awful pick?
trump has a path towards winning this election, going ultra conservative and theocratic is not a part of it -
that's also not my point even.CuntWaffle said:Yes. Trump has survived being portrayed as the KKK ring leader... But Pence is the reason why he will lose... Lol.
no one who is already voting for trump is gonna flip because of this. however he's gonna need a lot more support to win, and a lot of it will need to be crossover.
no one is interested in bible thumpers anymore outside of states that would go republican either way. If he doubles down on corruption, trade and immigration, he will win. if he decides to go the social conservativism route, he'll lose by double digits -
Losing to Obama in 2012 is pretty bad in terms of campaign. Everyone hates him but still think he's better than you.
-
The democrats have to run fucking retards to lose. Guys like Bill or Barak that can talk in a complete sentence and are young and vibrant will always winPitchfork51 said:Losing to Obama in 2012 is pretty bad in terms of campaign. Everyone hates him but still think he's better than you.
Good thing they are running a fucking retard again -

The traditional base didn't nominate him...he's got the Reagan democrats and people who normally sit out wrapped up. He gets enough of the traditional base and he's home free.dhdawg said:

this. the loser of this election will have run the worst general election campaign of all timegreenblood said:At this point the polls are shifting his direction. He just needs to close his mouth a bit (easier said than done) and let Hillary (Doog legend) do what she does best....lose.
This campaign isn't about who wins, it's more about who doesn't lose.
If Trump runs a campaign on the border, Washington chronies, and national security, all these points hit to Hillary's weakest points, he'll win a close one. If he allows himself to get caught into the race wars, LGBT, etc. he gone.
*smart -

Except for the fact that he openly opposed abortion in the debates.

Wasn't a staple of his campaign

In retrospect, @Swaye had this shit DIALED IN.Swaye said:Pence maybe helps solidify the base (big maybe) and brings some "insider" experience to the ticket. Might help bring home the Midwestern values thing as well since Trump hopes to put some of those blue states in play, but overall, this was a safe and weak choice. Should have swung for the fences with Newt. Then again I kill bugs. What the fuck do I know?
