When is the last time so many visible members of one party supported the candidate from the other party?

Trump had the highest turnout in any Republican primary of all time. Wonder where those people came from?
-
So you are saying the established are backing the establishment candidate?
Not surprising -
Since our nation's population gets larger every year, it would make sense that each 4 years you'd have more people turning out to such events. It isn't really that big a deal, especially with the rest of the dreck that was running against him.PurpleJ said:Trump had the highest turnout in any Republican primary of all time. It is a bit more profound.Tequilla said:So you are saying the established are backing the establishment candidate?
They are backing the candidate from the OTHER party. -
So why were Democratic primary numbers down?OZONE said:

I'm not convinced they were. I'd have to see the methodology of whatever analysis backs up your claim. But there could be a lot of reasons, such as... so many Dems were convinced that Clinton had it in the bag, they didn't feel the need to turn out for primaries. It could also be that some of those turning out for Bernie's events weren't counted in the analysis if they weren't registered as Dems. Depends on what numbers you believe, and the methodology used to derive those numbers.PurpleJ said:

This piece sheds some light on turnout http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/03/08/so-far-turnout-in-this-years-primaries-rivals-2008-record/

OZONE...the Clinton lapdog...there are estimates of up to 20% of democrats voting for Trump, and you and CNN are worried about these 5 ladies. Love this part as well...
Her temporary transition to Democratic volunteer might seem all too convenient at first: She was recently married to Tim Lim, the founder of a media buying firm called Precision and a partner at Bully Pulpit Interactive, which has a contract with the Clinton campaign. -
Smart democrats voted republican in the primaries. And they didn't vote for the fucking moron Trump.PurpleJ said:
