Yes, it is the Native Americans that are demanding change. Look it up.puppylove_sugarsteel said:Problem is, its prolly not even the Indians demanding change. At what point is some entity going to step up and say "fuck your butt-hurt cunt, we're not cowering down to political correctness". Nobody has a dick. I'm serious. I worry that a lot of kids named Johnny sit down to pee, and have for the last quarter century. The same people voting for gay marriage.
My kid is going to be a bully. Im going to condone him slapping some sense into his vagina-toating male classmates. And Ill slap Johnetta's male parents accross their lips at 'cake-walk" night. I'm embarrassed to be an American.
And the rest of your post is just more stupid shit like you always crap on this board, but I enjoyed finding this photo of you and your wife.

The Cleveland Indians have a much more offensive mascot/logo, but Redskins is an offensive name. It was interesting to see all the Illinois fans in Chicago clinging to their Chief Illiniwek thing. I thought their continuing use of the "indian dance" (or whatever the fuck you want to call it) was probably the most offensive use of native american history/tradition I've seen yet. It was pure b.s. and was/is clearly a mockery by any modern standard.
Of course, many like to ignore the fact that there are schools like FSU and UND that have figured out how to have a harmonious relationship with local tribes and represent them positively.
It seems to me that the reasonable view is to look at the context, but that's always too difficult for most... -
Well said. This pretty much sums up my thoughts.no_uh said:The Cleveland Indians have a much more offensive mascot/logo, but Redskins is an offensive name. It is not "the" Native Americans as if you are lumping them in one group that moves in lockstep. That's pretty offensive. "The" native Americans have a wide range of opinions on the matter. Also, it's ok to call them Indians or American Indians.Passion said:

I don't care either way, but I do wonder if "the" Irish wanted to change the Notre Damn mascot, what the reaction would be. -
Honoring the Sioux or Seminoles is one thing, Redskins is another. Some of you need to learn the difference. The Redskins were the last team to integrate as well - in the 60's!
