Pettis is a new whipping boy? He's a pretty good player. He's never going to be a true #1 WR and he's never going to be a guy a defensive coordinator loses sleep about. He's merely a solid WR. Nothing wrong with it.

@RoadDawg55 - watch some of our games to refresh your memory. Pettis' problem is that he played like a lump of shit. He didn't fight for balls consistently. He ran routes too shallow, he got stopped by rubs, etc.
Pettis has real talent in my opinion.
For fuck's sake the fucking WR coach got fired. Pete said we didn't get performance from our receivers.
Pettis underperformed. He might not make it back, but last year wasn't indicative of his ceiling.
He is a classic shitty coaching victim. He was promising as a frosh, played slightly worse as a soph. If that's not shitty coaching in action, I don't know what is.

This was my first thought as well. I think Pettis is the most important WR because he has shown the ability to be our best all around receiver. We have a bunch of specialized receivers with glaring weaknesses/the inability to even do well at the things they should be good at, but very few guys who have the ability to be solid all around receivers. I guess Renfro would fall into that category as well.
