The world doesn't need to conform to you, and it won't - so buck up, junior, or move on.
Somehow, I don't think this guy leaving is going to have any detrimental effect on this site, because someone else will show up that does like the way it is here. I say keep the site as is, and let this guy's replacement take the ball. Everyone talks about the pussification of Seattle - is the pussification of HH next because some sand gets in someon e's crack?

Part of the problem comes down to fans having deep cynicism due to stupid decisions like hiring Coach Willingham. It all stems from the 'half brain' characterization.

Even half reasoned logic is usually a waste of time. Football posts show every conceivable logical fallacy and should be studied by logicians who could find new ones.

All this fear of HH becoming PC is pretty funny. Why? Because it's already there.
Everyone on here adheres to PC standards, it just depends where you fall on the scale. I've never seen anyone use the terms "nigger," "nigra," "spic," "chink," "wop," "polock," "camel jockey," etc etc etc. These are offensive terms and I think most HH posters recognize they're pretty repugnant. And Derek would probably delete the post and ban the poster if it became a habit.
But "faggot" is pretty common, as is "retard." Lots of homosexuals or parents of retarded children are pretty offended by those terms. The sexist stuff appears regularly too.
Who knows where the line should be drawn? I'm certainly not going to lecture anyone about what they should or shouldn't say. For me, I just try to respect different groups of people and not be hypocritical. If I won't use a certain word because it's ugly and offends Group A, why should I freely use a word that offends Group B?

TRUE STORY applicable here. The company I worked for got a complaint from some of the office staff about a senior vp using too much profanity. HR tells the VP to tone it down or face discipline. VP says, "no problem I understand. I'll go apologize."
Vp meets with the office staff and says "I understand there is some concern about my language...I want to apologize if I offended anyone."
Office staff thanks him.
"Anything else we need to talk about?" he asks.
"No." The staff says, mollified.
