I like my trees in this one. Fresh bowl!
-
Ki-Jana McCaffrey.
I think Brent has the Trees and is giving the points, but not sure yet. Best part of watching a Mussburger-called game. -
but how was mccaffrey robbed of the heisman?
-
McCaffrey is going to get 1760 yards today alone
-
Let's see him do this against us.Gladstone said:but how was mccaffrey robbed of the heisman?

Kirk Ferentz Doog Legend.

Big time plunger here
-
Iowa sucks.
-
Ohio state stanford would have been a great game
-
Stanford should have played Michigan St. in this game with Ohio St in the Fiesta.
-
I was chatting with a buddy of mine (who admittedly played football for Kirk Ferentz at Iowa) and he convinced me that Kirk Ferentz is a good coach - he is just dealing with Iowa resources and prestige.biak1 said:Kirk Ferentz Doog Legend.

Pretty sure OSU did play in the Fiesta, fag.PurpleJ said:Stanford should have played Michigan St. in this game with Ohio St in the Fiesta.

And Iowa in the playoff?PurpleJ said:Stanford should have played Michigan St. in this game with Ohio St in the Fiesta.

No playoff. We're talking about a REAL Rose Bowl here.RavennaDawg said:

No sense in trying to reason with an idiot.RavennaDawg said:

LMAO Stanford doesn't have a great run defense. That's the best part of their defense idiot. Best chance of beating them is having a spread type offense or Raid type ala WSU

UW's reign as last team to post a Rose Bowl shutout my end after 34 years.

But the victim remains the sameRavennaDawg said:UW's reign as last team to post a Rose Bowl shutout my end after 34 years.

I lived in Iowa for a couple of years. They have an 80,000 seat stadium that is on campus and full for every game, reasonable striking distance to the Chicago and St. Louis suburbs, good academis, nice college town/sloots - in the shitty half of the B1G - Iowa is a place where a coach with a pulse could kick some ass. Ferentz sucks and should be put to sleep.Mad_Son said:

One of the things I love about the Rose Bowl, and West Coast Super Bowls, is the first half in daylight and the second half in the dark. Pretty cool.
-
Like State College, 3 hours to NYC, PIttsburgh and Philly, stadium is full every Saturday including the spring gameAZDuck said:

It's not a big state. Iowa State is competition, albeit really weak competition. Still there are a lot of schools in small states who have done well (N, K St at times, Arkie at times, Oklahomo, Clumpson).
I think you could say the same thing about Illinois or even Minnesota.
Illinois is in a big state (13,000,000 or so) and their main competition is a nerd school which filters out a lot of players. I don't follow Midwest TBS but Chicago has 9,000,000 people...they have to have a decent amount of football talent. A slick recruiter could siphon much of that off from ND, Michigan, Ohio State, Wisconsin etc.
-
Iowa has plenty of resources - it's an attractive school in about as nice a location as the Midwest has to offer (really, the only great locations in the B1G are Wisconsin (Madison is a really neat town) and Northwestern (Evanston, on the lake). They own the state of Iowa, fan-dom-wise - nobody who didn't go there gives a fuck about Iowa State. Which is in itself weird since Ames is pretty much in the northern suburbs of Des Moines.
I just don't buy any "poor Iowa" bullshit. Hayden Fry built a pretty nice program there, and Ferentz has been stealing money for years. -
Deflected Pass comes up big for the Hawkeyes
-
Yes! Brent comes through!
"Some of my friends in the desert were cheering those last two touchdowns."
Over 56.5 just hit. After watching the game, I think that may have been Brent's play all along, and not Stanford -6. -
Illinois should be a basketball power every fucking year. Chicago to the north, St Louis to the east. They've pretty much sucked since Kendall Gill was there.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:
