But in a way, IDGAF as long as we can get health care costs down to 15% of GDP. I'm nearly at the point where the ends justifies the means and if we go to single payer, I'll work harder to pay for private / supplemental insurance.

Goods and services should be allocated on criteria other than economic.
hey, its what I'm hearing, don't twist. -
But the USA is still running hundreds of billions of dollars of annual deficits and health care is an enormous part of the budget so we don't necessarily have that luxury.
At the very least, the lawsuit should be thrown out. If Medi-Cal is essentially free for them, on what basis can they sue? Medi-Cal certainly isn't violating the 8th amendment.sarktastic said:Goods and services should be allocated on criteria other than economic.

A) USA as a country is broke, bankrupt, can never repay the IOU's we owe etc.
B-100,000,000,000,000,000) See A
We will be single payer in this country within 20 years. That was the genius part of Obama and what forever be known as Obamacare. The dems and him knew they couldn't get it thru all in one bite, but they got the ball rolling when the supreme court upheld the law which mandates that everyone has health care, but as more and more "exchanges" go tits up because the are losing their ass, the more the govt. will have to "supplement" the program and the more people will be on their plan.
And to think John Roberts (Chief Justice of Supreme Court) went to bed the night before thinking he was going to strike the law down. -
The liberals want to go single payer. So their grand idea was to add 30 million customers to insurance companies. The same insurance companies that lobbied for the bill and whose lobbying money ensured single payer won't happen.godawgst said:A) USA as a country is broke, bankrupt, can never repay the IOU's we owe etc.

The grand idea was to add 30 million people who couldn't afford to pay, and because of this, needed more medical care to get feeling better and "caught up" from health issues they have ignored.2001400ex said:

United Health has already said that if 2016 plays out like the last two years have in regards to medical exchanges they will walk away from them because they are losing their ass on them. So who do you think is going to pick all those people up, and who will subsidize their cost so they have the cheapest plans (hint sounds like loverment)?
Once that happens, companies in America will just pay the fine for not offering health insurance (it wll be cheaper than doing so) and let their employees find it on their own.

Who else saw the thread title and thought it should have been "81%"?
