If we were to use your logic, then Don James would have been the wrong coach. Top to bottom, in recent years this conference is much stronger than it was back then.
I support Peterman. But this is bullshit.
The reason the Bay schools, the Oregon schools, and even Wazzu have all taken their turns at relevancy is that UW has been dormant for 20 years. It's a zero-sum game.

Well because they added Utah, no, it actually isn't. But your poont stands.

So all of those teams would've sucked for 20 straight years if UW was good the last 20 years?

UW will be good when UW wants to be good irregardless of any mute point other teams. Hope this helps.
If every team in the North needs to suck or be down for UW to win it then you have the wrong coach
Lather, rinse, repeat
How good was Cal, Stanford, Cuogs, OSU, and Whoregon (lol) when Don James was the coach?
Cal under Snyder gave UW its toughest test in the 1991 season. The Bears finished 10-2 with a top-10 ranking after clobbering Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl. FWIW, the Bears also won their bowl games in 1990 and 1993, and I still want to string Gilby up by his balls for pissing away the 1993 game, then allegedly spending time in the UW locker room afterwards commiserating with his former players instead of being with the fucking team he was hired to coach.

How good was USC ucla ASU etc. Really good and tuff non con games too.
But keep playing that doog playbook.
It just means you have the wrong coach
What doog playbook am I playing?

Maybe at one point the conference was stronger. I wasn't old enough to be there at the time, but I doubt Don James ever had to face Carroll, Chip Kelly, and Harbaugh at the same time.

Only team that has gotten worse is WWU
Would be a tuff environment for the doogfather
