Gaskin and Browning Among Best True Freshmen in CFB

Yeah, bitch!
-
Not a lot of freshmen QBs to choose from I take it
-
Gaskin is playing lights out! And when healthy Browning is doing good.
-
Browning will be a great QB here. As I've been saying for months. Everything I've seen indicates that.
-
I don't like these lists because 'best true freshman' just depends on who plays as a true freshman. Benning Potoa'e could be one of the best true freshmen and no one would know. Get off my lawn!!
Anyway, Utah is a game that we should win. I've been impressed with Gaskin, but Browning has shit the bed any time he's had to perform in a pressure situation (you mean like the one slant he threw at USC?!?!?).
Myles Gaskin will never win the Heisman here (and a RB may never win the Heisman again any time soon), but he's a guy that looks capable of getting 1,500 yards if we ran it to him a little bit. -
Only if Jonathan Smith would realize that.MikeMonan said:Gaskin is playing lights out! And when healthy Browning is doing good.

Utah has a great front 7. ( I heard it on TV so it must be true) I would agree that Browning has a chance to silence the doubters by not shitting his pants Saturday.Dennis_DeYoung said:I don't like these lists because 'best true freshman' just depends on who plays as a true freshman. i'm not sure the style of how Utah plays on D, but with the way Browning plays vs the blitz should serve well vs ASU.

What, no Trey Adams or BBK?CokeGreaterThanPepsi said: -
Browning has an adjusted QBR of 59. Matt Barkley as a true freshman was 60 while Jared Goff was at 54. If the OL keeps improving Browning will be a very good QB. Next few games are challenges though.
The other thing to note here is this is an overall list...not just top freshman qb's. -
Metrics much?HeretoBeatmyChest said:Browning has an adjusted QBR of 59. Matt Barkley as a true freshman was 60 while Jared Goff was at 54. If the OL keeps improving Browning will be a very good QB. Next few games are challenges though.

Goff was 1-11 and has lost to every decent team Cal has played this year as a 3rd year starter.HeretoBeatmyChest said:Browning has an adjusted QBR of 59. Fuck the stats and win the fucking games -
It's always fun to compare the Freshman All -American list with the *real All -American list four years later... sorta like scanning MLB rosters for non-existent LL World Series championsRaceBannon said:Not a lot of freshmen QBs to choose from I take it

If ProFootballFocus has a college page just how focused on Pro Football could they possibly be?
Somewhere in between @GrandpaSankey and Colin Kaepernick? -
I know your'e being sarkastic, but Marvin Hall is our QB.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Browning will be a great QB here. As I've been saying for months. Everything I've seen indicates that.

You know who had shitty stats?
Billy Joe Fucking Hobart, that's who -
Should've given that Camaro to the defense.RaceBannon said:You know who had shitty stats?

If Browning is fairly close to the statistical jump Goff & Barkley had in their 2nd year then UW will very likely win the north.RaceBannon said:

Shouldn't we wait for the offseason to win the offseason natty?
I mean, yeah, I get it, the season is over but there is a lot of practice left.HeretoBeatmyChest said:

Haven't watched too many games this year, eh? I suggest cal, boise state and oregon.MikeMonan said:Gaskin is playing lights out! And when healthy Browning is doing good.

so... your just gonna cherry pick?

I don't think many on this board realize how close we are to turning the corner ...
I've been saying for months that I could see this team winning the North and Conference next year ... it's not a massive stretch. There are so many parallels to what I saw with TCU ... biggest difference is that UW may be a bit further ahead in the QB department. Going into last year, Boykin wasn't even supposed to be in the running for QB at TCU. -
Looks like ringing up points and stats against a defense rated about 2 spots above air has the doog bell chiming hard.
-
The way this Season has played out anyone but OS could win the Pac 12 N next Season.Tequilla said:I don't think many on this board realize how close we are to turning the corner ...

Change is coming. Can you feel it?
-
With Karl Dorrell (things I never thought I would ever say for $2000 Trebek) and a frosh Tui, this team wins 10 games.
These days that means 2nd in the North, but that's where we should be.
The over-cuteness of the offense combined with the bed peeing of Brownshorts has artificially turned a 'good' team into a mediocre team.
Next year doesn't exist. Win or fuck off. -
Gaskin is very good. The obvious Sankey comparison was right on.
Ronald Jones on USC is even better. With the right coach (Chip Kelly) he's a 2,000 yard rusher. -
We should be the favorite to win the North next year. What is this "could" bs? If we don't its a failure of a season and CP probably isn't the guy barring some flukey circumstances.Tequilla said:I don't think many on this board realize how close we are to turning the corner ...
