It's happening in Illinois (our Empty Suit of A President's home state, no surprise). Since their pensions are so hefty and the # of their retirees bloated in numbers, they have a big unfunded gap:

Thanks Obama. Dumb fuck. You should have just funded that shit yourself.

He's going to. We're all going to pay for Chicago Union pensions. Translated: they get the new Honda... you get to help pay for it. Enjoy.2001400ex said:Thanks Obama. Dumb fuck. You should have just funded that shit yourself.

Does your dislike of public sector unions include ALL public sector unions? Or just those that aren't Cops & Firefighters?HFNY said:It's happening in Illinois (our Empty Suit of A President's home state, no surprise). I have always loved the state lottery. It's like a legal form of a Ponzi scheme. Somehow Illinois can't even make that work.

I like the "idea" of unions (i.e. collective bargaining to protect workers), but they are so corrupt and poorly run that they are more trouble than they are worth. They protect the shitty workers from being fired and prevent the company from making it's own promotion/hiring decisions. The dues are usually skimmed by the union bosses' and the rest of the pot is used as a PAC for the left. When it comes time for negotiations (holding the company hostage), they feed the workers propaganda to whip them up in a frenzy against the company that is responsible for their livelihood.
I'd say we do away with them completely, but there are decent unions out there that aren't on a mission to fuck everybody else to get theres.
Then there are the public unions that are negotiating against the taxpayers. Un-fucking-real. Of course it makes sense to elect corrupt politicians that will be their bitch. It's a never ending gravy train. -
Just those that aren't cops and firefighters....they clearly add a lot of value, no?OZONE said:

Speaking of, a friend sent this to me and it is very applicable here because as PurpleJ said, Newark still couldn't get rid of bad teachers.
It's sad that Public Schools are set-up to benefit adults rather than the kids vs. Charter Schools that are mostly the other way around:

All public unions, including (especially) police and firefighter unions are immoral and corrupt.
