Fuck mother fucking cancer and all it does to good people. It's a sad day when I hear of another person's life lost to cancer, and the vast amount of people who have gone through personal hell to last just another few months with family and friends. As someone who has gone through it with both parents it is impossible to say anything other than fuck cancer.
For the internet tough guys, the people who think football is all that matters, or the dumb idiots who are "praying" for sark to turn his addiction around, here's a hearty FUCK YOU.
Look at people who have the courage to FIGHT ON for a real cause, with a real ending, and with a purpose. Yes, at some point it ends for all of these hero's, but at least we all can look at them and a raise a full glass and toast to their memory and to their courage.
Pull out a glass of your finest all and toast someone from your life who's struggled, is struggling and remember how lucky we all are to see courage in the real sense of the word.

This sure put things such as football in perspective. You are a really good writer, Derek and you and your sis had really good siblings. Your testimony to Jennifer and the good times you shared all of your lives touched me. I too am sorry that she is gone so young. Many of us have been affected by cancer and it never gets easier to know that we have lost another good one to that nasty disease. Blessings for good things to you and your loved ones sir.
