Seattle did it to themselves with that trade.

Definitely the fucking Cable guys. On a related note, Tom Cable is so fucking overrated.

Some people in raider nation are still bitter about him getting fireddnc said:Definitely the fucking Cable guys. On a related note, Tom Cable is so fucking overrated.

Disagree. Unger couldn't stay healthy, trading him isn't the problem. Refusing to use high draft picks on the line and/or sign anyone worth a damn while trusting Cable can take a bunch of defensive lineman projects and teach them to play OL is the problem.section_332 said:Seattle did it to themselves with that trade.

I'm still LIPO with the Seahawks OL. The fact is, that is where Carrol and Schneider chose the OL as the place to not put money in. In the NFL, you have to make sacrifices. In college football, you can sign whoever you want so there really isn't an excuse.
I am puzzled by the love fest for Novak though. The OL played well with Lewis and Lempierre last year. -
Cable has a boner for athleticism. Nowak is more athletic than the other two. Who cares if he's not nearly as good at football?RoadDawg55 said:I'm still LIPO with the Seahawks OL. Miss the shit outta him come January.
But I agree about draft picks, but they did trade back to pick up more OL. But to your point, Cable ain't that good -

Okung would be a better example.Passion said:

Fine. There are 2 out of 5 well paid OLs.RoadDawg55 said:

I also used to like Lemuel Jean Pierre and Lewis, don't know what happened with them.
Britt is shockingly bad. -
2nd round picks aren't highly paid in salaries but the opportunity cost is very high.
-
12s OL ...
I do expect that they will play better as the year goes on though.
Sobering thought though is what do they end up doing when they lose Okung after the year. -

Britt isn't powerful enough at LG to deal with the interior DL in the NFL.
Okung has regressed since his 2nd year in the league...don't know if his legs / ankles are shot but that All-Pro season is far in the rearview mirror.
At least the young guys on the Husky OL have flashed potential and have a chance to get much better as the season goes on while Okung will probably get hurt again, Britt won't get any stronger, and Nowak may get benched...not like Sweezy and Gilliam are lighting the NFL on fire either. -
How do you define "highly paid?" How many teams do you think have first-round draft pick salaries across all 5 positions?RoadDawg55 said:

A 4 year 3.54 million is not a big contract. There is a reason why draft picks are so valuable. You can find quality players for cheap.Passion said:

I have to think that if the hawks didn't let Evan Mathis LEAVE without a contract and took a 7th round flier on La'el Collins, their offensive line would look about 100x better.
