Gameday atmosphere will never be what it was before social media, mobile devices, and HD tv.

I'm a loser and self proclaimed sports historian who watches way too many hours of classic old footage. Whether it be college basketball, football, NFL, etc the common theme I see is that the crowd is completely engaged in the game every second. There are no selfies, phone calls, stat checks, whatever. The only thing they can do is watch the fucking game.

The ADD nation reigns supreme now. Except for rare, heightened moments, the crowd is never fully there. It will never be the same. 4th and goal? Get your phone out and SnapChat what happens so you can show your friends you were there!

Then how do you explain the great-as-ever gameday atmosphere at C-Link and Autzen?

    Hint: It rhymes with "spinning."

Oregon has zero gameday experience and Autzen is packed except for the drunk students.

Not true - I've been there with a friend and their indoor practice facility (Moshofsky Center) is packed on game days. Food/drink, live music, cheerleaders, team walk through and stuff. Not saying it's the best out there but it's way more than Zero. Of course they're all expecting a W, mostly lopsided, so that sets the tone.
Only fags go to the team sponsored drinking clubs.

    Hope this helps.
Why would I leave my seat? The beer is colder

I think you're missing the point. UW has all that bullshit too. The Zone, food, drink, cheerleaders, team walk through.

The difference is Oregon has been winning. None of that other shit matters.
No! That isn't the only difference! Oregon has their duck mascot riding bitch on a motorcycle. We don't have anything to compare to that.

Tailgater Magazine recently voted Oregon the #1 tailgating school in the country. No word as to whether "tailgating" means "parking lot rape" in the context of this particular periodical.

I agree, dumbass. I was only correcting him on the total lack of "game day" at Autzen.

Barring being the only game in town like it is at most SEC schools, the gameday experience in most major markets starts and ends with winning. Anybody thinking anything else is fucking fucktarded.

And let's be honest, as people start to wise up that Petersen is turning things around the place will start filling back up. Also need to go get rid of this weak ass scheduling shit.

Also, last thing, the only thing that really needs to go is the fucktard that sings the anthem needs to be pulled stage left. He's fucking terrible. Give a refund to the fat cat rich donors that propped this fucktard up.

Not to be outdone by his posting yesterday in which he defiantly displayed his lack of knowledge on player eligibility, Scott has taken on the lack of enthusiasm for Husky Football in this city.

If you compare the current level of Husky fan support and enthusiasm to that of 1991-92 or current support of teams like the Seattle Seahawks or Oregon Ducks, there is a clear discrepancy, and Mr. Eklund knows why.

Winning teams? a possibility of being in a conference championship race?

No, stupid! That's just an old, tired excuse.

What brings the 12's (god I hate typing that) out to rabidly fill Century Link week after week? Super Bowls, exciting players, not even close. It's the GAMEDAY ATMOSPHERE. Fans could care less about the football game going on. They want to see who will raise the 12th man flag, they want to hear Crazy Train pumped over the speakers on kickoff.

Similarly, Oregon fans wait to rape in the parking lot until AFTER the game because they wouldn't want to miss any of the crazy antics of their Donald Duck mascot.

So what can UW do to change the apathy in the fan base that has been gradually falling for the last 2 decades? Scott has the answer:
    1) A cool entrance song for the team to take the field to
    2) Having the Husky Legend presentation BEFORE the game to pump up the crowd
    3) Showing old Husky highlights on the jumbo-tron during the game
    4) The band running out of the tunnel and playing the national anthem

Kim then backed up Scott's assertion that "Winning is nice, but it has no affect on attendance. You have to make the stadium a fun place to be."

Kim has also made it clear that The Zone has no bearing at all on the empty seats during the 2nd half kickoff. That's all just people who pay $70 for a ticket and go home after the first half

    Jesus. Krisvashoning much Scott?
