Shocking. Not.

Tanned rested and ready to rumble

This was always a strange recruit for our church school.
Was he good last year? I don't recal, which makes me hope this isn't a big loss. -
Peterman just said that he was dismissed. Not surprised.
-
IMO he was door.ass.out after the long TD in the UCLA game where I believe Budda blew the coverage and Hale got torched deep because he was expecting a safety back to help him out. Instead of running out the play and taking the beef to the sideline he stopped on the play and was yelling at Budda on the field.doogville said:This was always a strange recruit for our church school.

At least he is being Nebraska classy about it.
I would like to announce that I will be taking my football career elsewhere and thank the university of Washington for everything they've taught me. I Thank you coach Lake and Coach Peterson for being there for me and understanding everything that I go through. Nobody in this world will understand my life yet I'm still moving forward. I'm so thankful to play and start many games as a True Freshmen in the PAC-12 and those memories will stick with me forever. New chapter ahead.... Ride with me -

So the depth at CB is now:
Jones
Gardenhire
King (nickel)
Lewis
Joyner
Miller
Be curious how they use King now that they're transitioning him from safety. I'm eager to see how Gardenhire continues to perform after his outstanding spring. -
It also sounds like Gardenhire jumped Hale on the depth chart during the spring. My guess is Joyner definitely plays now (he was probably going to already) and King definitely doesn't take a Brostek-redshirt
-
Yeah, Gardenhire was at the other CB spot opposite Jones all spring and had 9 INTs in the spring, including the 100-yard return for a TD in the spring game.bananasnblondes said:It also sounds like Gardenhire jumped Hale on the depth chart during the spring. Hale leaving impacts depth since he was the #3 CB on the team (and Kelly was the #4). I'm guessing King will be the #3 CB (and #1 nickel) with Lewis, Joyner, and Miller are vying for the #4 and #5 CBs spots. Wouldn't be surprised to see Joyner and Miller both play, especially if injuries occur. -
How Many Sark guys left now?

Surprised anyone's surprised.
Nobody survives the wrath of the Peetamus suspension shed. -
Pete really hates CB's
Is he the 4th or 5th one he has kicked off? -
He was a QB what do you expect.HuskyJW said:Pete really hates CB's

Hale showed some okay flashes. could have been good. Or he could have sucked. Either way it would have been interesting. Need more Dbs. Our depth really took a hit over the last year.

And if yo ass is a busta coach Pete will regulate.MisterEm said:#EdgyPlayersNeedNotApply

Darien left before Peterman got here, Kelly quit on his own. The other three were told to LEAVE!whatshouldicareabout said:

Too bad, was interested to see how he would develop with another year under Lake. Just another recruiting gem that left before living up to the hype and serves as a reminder to all the extreme TBSers to stop freaking out when a 4-5 star doesn't go our way.
Sydney Jones ftw. Gardenhire, we'll see. King is long and athletic and might be able to hide his biggest weakness (physicality) on the outside. LIPO. -
Bummer now Nate Dogg's ghost won't be gracing his presence anymore at UW.
Pretty bummed about Hale. He had one amazing play against Ty Montgomery that made me think he was going to be a stud. -

I know you're being sarcastic, but he's killed the last 2 "combines"CuntWaffle said:

Whoops, how did I do that? I meant Lavon Washington.bananasnblondes said:

Too many Washingtons on Washington. -
Maybe i'm being wooshed, but he's arguably one of the best pure athletes on the team. He just does not have the headhunter mindset needed to play Strong Safety, which is why tiny Budda was leading the charge. He was never going to be a feared hitter in D1 and it was clear he was hesitant/scared whenever size was running down the seam.CuntWaffle said:

He does have the length, quickness, and range that could make him a nightmare defending smaller guys in the slot (which there are a ton of in the Pac-12). With him it remains to be seen if he has it in him to be a football player or just an athletic guy who never got it. He's athletic enough to give it a chance. -
This is why I was hoping for the Brostek redshirt this year. He played CB in high school and just didn't look like he knew how to play safety last year, nor did he have the body for it. Despite his long ass neck, he has the athleticism to be a good CB with the proper teachingDoogles said:

I think the nature of the position requires Petersen to go outside of OKG to find guys. There arent too many good, mild mannered CB's.
