It's a full moon tonight, the kids are getting riled up

Tonight's full moon has a special title. It's known as a Strawberry Moon thanks to the Algonquin tribes. They first called June's full moon a strawberry moon because it coincided with the best time to pick the fruit. June's full moon is also sometimes called a "honey" moon or a "full rose" moon. The moon stays close to the horizon in June, and that makes it appear more amber and also larger, hence the title "honey" moon.

"Full Rose" moon was more commonly used in Europe, where strawberries aren't native.

Each month's full moon has a title. Next up will be the "Full Buck Moon" on July 1
