The 70's were great. Funk came into its own. Disco had a nice run and was fun. Country was solid and not so prepackaged.

I never liked KISS. But I respected them after the right wing christian girl at my church told me that KISS stood for Knights In Satan's Service.
I always liked Boston, because they were started by a guy that graduated from MIT, and their first album was the bomb.
Styx has some good stuff, and some bad stuff. Pretty much like every band. But I liked them more after the right wing christian girl mentioned above told me they were named after some river that satan liked.
I already forgot who else you mentioned.
A few years ago, a women that played on my ultimate frisbee team, showed up for a game wearing a super tight Styx t-shirt. She was cute as hell, and she was stacked. It gave me a boner and she knew it. So, I guess I do like Styx. -
