I watched that last weekend. If I had known Dennis DeYoung then like I know him now I might have paid more attention to the band. Their big years were 75-80 which means I viewed them with disdain and scorn like all late 70's "corporate" bands that had the misfortune of following Zeppelin, the Who, and all the REAL bands.

My girlfriend's little sister was crazy over this band called KISS and we thought she should be sent away. To this day I can't believe a pre teen girls band lasted as long as they have.

Basically the 70's sucked and bands like Styx and Kansas and Boston and KISS played a large role in that. Hell, they may be responsible for the rise of disco which actually evolved into dance music which became hip hop. 70's rock gave rise to Classic Rock FM99.9 where we don't play shit from the 70's.

Come Sail Away and Lorelei were decent but the soft shit that DeYoung killed the band with is horrible. They rightfully fired his ass after Mr. Roboto and now tour the land with 80's hair metal bands and still get more tail than any of us. So there's that.

Anyway I never knew that DeYoung actually got fired from his own band.

my first concert was KISS at the Coliseum when I was 8 years old. I had never seen people with long hair smoking pot before.

If we're gonna bash KISS that's fine, but if we're gonna bash Boston then I am OUT.

    TNT- 1975
    High Voltage - 1976
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - 1976
Let There Be Rock - 1977
    Powerage - 1978
    Highway to Hell - 1979

That's about enough "the 70's sucked" bullshit.
