Disagree with all the talk about pressure free throws. Not the ideal guy to inbound to, but he's a good enough shooter not to shit his pants on the line. Was he feeling pressure when he was draining 3s?

It's game 1 of the Pac-12 tournament against a team they have played multiple times and their season is meaningless. It's not the fucking final four.

And he has NEVER been in that position at this level ...

Good coaching is putting guys into a position to be successful - that's not a great situation to put a kid in.

I said he wasn't the ideal guy to get the ball to, but let's not act like he's incapable of making a free throw. If I was hot from 3 all game I'd be feeling pretty good about myself at the line, no matter what point of the game it was.

Btw, this has nothing to do with defending Romar. This has more to do with making excuses for missing free throws.

There's a lot of money to be made overseas. I've got to respect anyone that would rather make it there than play for the 0-28 deserving doogs in Seattle.

If someone drafts NWG good for him. His stock won't ever go up, there is no actual coaching happening for him to improve with. He probably won't ever be good enough to last in the NBA, but it would be foolish to turn down an NBA salary for a few years at least.

Well, i expect to see DJ sell his couch within a week. NWG to post his couch on craigslist within two weeks, potentially selling at anytime. As well as all the fanbase to continue to not give a shit and pat romar on the back for winning against Utah.

Romar supporters don't understand how damming their own arguments are. When you are afraid to fire Romar because:

    A. Who would you get that's better?
    B. People aren't going to leave "mid major school X" for Washington

....you (the royal "you") are demonstrating that he hasn't raised the bar as high as you think. You are saying the program isn't attractive. The backtrack is that NOW he doesn't have the facilities and that's not his fault. Desperation

Here is an easy response to anyone claiming facilities.

BUTLER/VCU/WITCHITA STATE/GU(for many many years), and I could go on, and on, and on. If facilities are the main reason a kid goes to a school you're coach is a POS. I'm not saying it doesn't at least assist, but there are still some massive dumps out there and programs are successful.

Not saying it is - I tend to think facilities are highly overrated.

My HS had an older gym that was no longer used but looked like it came straight out of Hoosiers ... will always be my favorite gym to shoot in

Agreed. Facilities seem to be the go-to move for an embattled coach. You don't hear people complaining about facilities when there is success.

@Tequilla read your last 2 post. The first defends the facilities at Butler and Wichita State, your second states that facilitates don't really matter. Which is it. Do facilities matter or not. IMO, @FreeChavez is absolutely correct. It's a BS excuse played by a failing coach.

Facilities matter, but they are also overrated.

Everybody wants to have a really good place to get their work in and improve.

That being said, a gym is a gym, a hoop is a hoop, and a court is a court.

When you think about the fact that most people grow up playing hoops outdoor (and many prefer to do that) then how special the gyms are shouldn't be as much of an issue.

If you look at NBA practice facilities as an example, how much of it is driven off the quality of the court (which almost all high-end players have a court in their own house) as much as it is the amenities that are included in the complex (most notably being the support staff)? That's the stuff that stands out IMO.

Win and finding money for new facilities becomes significantly easier. Sarks a POS but at least he won enough games to get people to open their wallets. It's like Woody learned nothing from the Tyrone disaster and needs to watch the program hemorrhage money and become irrelevant before he'll sack up and do what should have been done a couple years ago.

If you aren't feeling tight shooting 3s you won't at the line. Idgaf what any of yall say. Shooting is shooting when you are good at basketball.

Bring on the downvotes but calling that game pressure is comical to me.

You're the one putting these guys on the line discussing their suitability to hit free throws.
