Yeah, Shane Bowman is absolutely yoked out of his mind. Good call @steelheader2

Was Bowman the kid that dmc had put on CouchWatch '15?

Actually surprised Coleman ran a 4.6. Do the pads just make him look like a slug?

I had the same thought. He runs a 5.1 in pads. Running in pads is something that should be scrutinized more closely. Some barely lose any speed, some are much slower.
never understood why they dont run the 40 in pads. It just makes too much sense. At the very least throw a helmet or shoulder pads on them instead of skin tight underwear.

Dwayne Washington and Kevin King are the two best athletes on the team. It just proves there is more to being a football player than athleticism. Maybe fundamentals, instincts, and toughness matter?

Yup, it really does speak to that. Obviously the physical attributes help, but great players are great because of the stuff you pointed out. One of my favorite things this staff preaches is "durability is more important than ability." It probably doesn't make sense to a lot of the players or couch watchers that JO over 40 speed, but it is 100% true.

That should be a reality. It's actually kind of ridiculous that it's not.

Depending on what happens with Ross, I wonder if the coaching staff is thinking about moving King to CB? He's a much better fit at FS but BB is there and Zeke Turner has seems to have the size to overtake him at SS.

Sounds like Dissly and Bowman are going to be the top 2 players at DT (E. Hudson's old position).

Jood reported that King told him that he was bouncing back and forth between CB and safety. King is tall and lean, quick, excellent jumper, isn't a great tackler. His measurables and playing style seem like a better fit at CB.

My guess is that King will be the first DB off the bench in sub packages. Jones and Kelly at CB. Baker and Turner at safety. King will be the top back up at S. I know Hale will factor in, but he was noticeably bad last year. I think he has a long way to go before being a dependable player.

His did the linebackers look? I'm more worried about that group than the front line

Azeem Victor looked very good. Littleton as well was solid. Bierra didn't participate or Feeney. Constantine and Connor O'Brien......meh. Justiss Warren will pass them up pretty quickly is my bet being there for spring. Drew Lewis looked pretty good as well.

I thought last year there was a lot of bullshit times that came out of the Husky combine. This year the only one that immediately sticks out is Lenius' 40 time. 4.49 would have been the fastest 40 of any TE in the last combine by nearly a whole tenth of a second, and would have been upper half of the WRs. It would have been faster than Mariota as well.

That dude is not sub 4.6.

Agree, but as a Bruin fan, how do you even know who Lenius is? He caught like 5 passes last season.

He caught a 28-yard pass against UCLA.

Maybe he has a good memory?

    Really?

Losing Shelton (possibly a top 10 pick), Kikaha (3rd to 5th rounder), Andrew Hudson (10 sacks last year), and Evan Hudson (decent RS-SR) isn't as bad as losing Shaq (2nd or 3rd rounder) and Timu (UDFA)?

We still return Feeney and Littleton at LB while Bierria and Victor have shown promise. OTOH, we don't bring back any guys who played a ton of snaps (though Qualls, Mathis, and Dissly have shown potential).

I'm actually most worried about the QB and OL.

The DL will be fine. There are a lot of young guys that should only get better as the season goes on. Mathis, Qualls, Gaines, Bowman, Dissly, Vea, Johnson….this is going to be a very good group when they all reach their potential. Hope its by fall 2016 (realistically).

I saw him play a few times at Chaminade HS last year. His team was loaded and he's a great prospect, thought UCLA should have recruited him. But he's not a sub 4.5 or even 4.6 player barring some type of miracle development.

For whatever it's worth, a player from that same high school team that really struggled was Jojo McIntosh. I'll be surprised if he ever is a contributor at UW.
