All for wanting to see the facts and circumstances come out in this case. Biggest worry right now is that the police officer is guilty in the court of public opinion before any information has been released.

Your biggest worry is for the officer? Nothing will happen to him....bar is lowered for cops. They can shoot and kill anyone they damn well please.

Went to his house....broke the door down.... and all they brought with them were their guns.

I'm not saying a taser would have worked...but how about those shotguns that shoot beanbags?

The problem isn't racism. It's that we've created an environment where this is ok. If you're a cop why take any risks when as a country we've decided that murdering an unarmed man is ok? You've seen George Zimmerman, a citizen not a cop, get away with it. Why wouldn't you? Until we deman more of police, hold them to the highest standard, this will keep happening. Start locking these guys up and magically you'll see it stop.

I can't say what happened because we don't know the facts ...

Hard to say what a cop was feeling in that situation and how much danger he was in ...

I do have concern that if we put more of a burden on cops to avoid these types of situations (which very well may be needed), we'll also see more violence against officers and more people pushing the boundaries since the hands of the cops are tied.

While we need to hold officers to higher standards, we need to do the same for citizens as well. If you physical threaten an officer, then you are putting yourself in a bad position where something bad could happen. There's limited accountability for people's own actions and the situations that they put themselves into.

Physically "threatening" a cop with your fists shouldn't be grounds for execution; if you're the cop, nut up and learn how to defend yourself without a firearm.

Article says the cop was assaulted and sustained injuries.

I'm hearing that cop's jobs are too stressful though, you try living in their shoes for a day!
